Wisconsin Man Faces Accusations Of Beating Woman For Christmas Gift
Madison police have arrested a man who allegedly beat a woman because he was upset over her Christmas gift. Not exactly the holiday spirit we were hoping for.
Police say the 23-year-old Paul Horne had been arguing Sunday with the woman, who had been out shopping too long and had bought the wrong Christmas gift. Apparently he didn’t think to just exchange it.
Police responded after getting reports of a man with a firearm. When they arrived they saw a man fleeing the building. He jumped over a fence, refused to stop when ordered to do so by police, but was stopped by the officers, says FOX News.
The incident happened around 9:40 pm Sunday at an apartment on the city’s far east side, says Madison.com.
Police spokesman Howard Payne said:
“People told officers Horne allegedly battered the 30-year-old woman in the hallway of the apartment and that he was carrying a gun case.”
Officers searched and recovered cash, marijuana, and a 12-gauge shotgun.
