‘Fifty Shades Freed’ Star Dakota Johnson Describes Her Critics In 3 Words
Dakota Johnson’s team-up with Jamie Dornan in the Fifty Shades franchise has definitely catapulted her to stardom. She instantly became one of the most sought-after actresses and job opportunities became rampant. However, the Fifty Shades Freed star revealed that it wasn’t all rainbows and butterflies for her after portraying her iconic role in the highly-popular erotic novel-turned-movie.
The 28-year-old actress and model has been in the business for over 15 years, but portraying Anastasia Steele in the Fifty Shades trilogy made her a household name. Despite her new-found fame, the actress shared that she had to deal with a lot of negativity on her way up the ladder.
Dakota Johnson revealed that portraying Anastasia Steele seemingly gave people a free license to judge her. Being a part of the mega-successful franchise, it opened her to a lot of praises and criticisms at the same time.
Many may have thought that the Fifty Shades Freed actress is enjoying her popularity after the success of the franchise, but it appears that the instant fame might be a little too much for the daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson. Dakota Johnson described the people talking negatively about her like an “incessant mosquito noise.”
In fact, Dakota Johnson seemed to be so unimpressed with the sudden attention that it appears that she is eyeing a different path for her career. Despite being at the peak of her career right now, the Fifty Shades Freed actress previously shared that she is definitely open to trying in expanding her brand.
“I read a lot, and I have found many articles and books that I’d like to turn into films,” Dakota Johnson said in an interview. “My interests are very specific, and I want to see certain women acting on screen and drawing attention to some particular issues.”
Despite her interest in making films, Dakota Johnson is certainly not ready to move on from her acting career. Given her popularity right now, it is expected that the Fifty Shades Freed actress has a lot of opportunities falling into her lap.
Fifty Shades Freed is set to be released on February 9, 2018.
