The filming of The Last Ship Season 5 already ended, but fans still have to wait until 2018 to see the new episodes of the action-drama television series.
Now, viewers are excited to know if the television show is going to feature a time jump after what happened in the previous season. In an interview with TV Line, Bridget Regan, who plays the role of Sasha Cooper, revealed that there will be a major time jump happening in the new season just like what they did in the fourth chapter.
The 35-year-old star continued to say that it just shows that the series’ writers are hard at work only showing the real “exciting stuff” happening in the world that they are in. She also teased that the distribution of a “new healthy crop and feeding people” won’t be revealed in The Last Ship Season 5 as they will be featuring the next big challenge that they have to face. Will there be another deadly pandemic coming?
Carter Matt reported that Jocko Sims, who portrays Lieutenant Carlton Burk, hinted that they might be facing another global phenomenon, and it will bring deaths and more danger to the public. Will this be the end of USS Nathan James and its people?
There are swirling rumors that The Last Ship Season 5 will be the end of the television adaptation of William Brinkley’s 1988 novel with the same title.
The show had been renewed for a fifth season even before the third installment ended. In fact, its production started at the same time the fourth chapter was filming.
Thus, a lot of viewers believe that The Last Ship Season 5 will be the final bow of Tom Chandler’s (Eric Dane) story. TNT has yet to address the issue. However, the network is also not denying the hearsay.
In a statement revealed by Deadline, the cable channel admitted that it could be the television show’s final season. However, the network is still not decided if it will bring the show to a close or will be ordered to have new episodes. Also, it explained that it is still far too early for that decision.
The Last Ship Season 5 is set to be released in the summer of 2018 on TNT.
