Possible Plans For Roman Reigns At ‘Survivor Series’ Revealed

Roman Reigns is currently out due to mumps, and he is expected to be re-evaluated this coming Monday along with other WWE superstars who are suffering from a viral infection. Reigns missed the TLC: Tables, Ladders, and Chairs pay-per-view last Sunday, as well as Monday Night Raw the next night. The latest backstage news has revealed the possible plans for him at next month’s Survivor Series.

As reported by WWE.com, Reigns and Bray Wyatt were out of the TLC PPV because of medical issues and the WWE did not specify what it was. However, several wrestling news outlets have reported that Reigns was suffering from the mumps while Wyatt, his real-life brother Bo Dallas, and real-life partner JoJo Offerman had viral meningitis.

The WWE had no choice but to replace Reigns in the 5-on-3 TLC Handicap Match with Kurt Angle while A.J. Styles filled in for Wyatt against Finn Balor. Angle helped Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose get the victory, but the main purpose of the match in the first place was to put over The Shield and their much-anticipated reunion.

According to F4W Online (h/t Wrestling Inc.), Reigns, Wyatt, Dallas, and JoJo are going to be re-evaluated this coming Monday to know when they are going to be cleared to return. The rest of the WWE locker room received shots this past Thursday, but there is still fear within the company that more superstars are going to be infected.

It should be noted that mumps symptoms appear 16 to 18 days after getting infected and it takes a week or more for it to disappear. If Roman Reigns gets cleared to return after Monday, there are reportedly big plans for him at Survivor Series. Reigns was absent this week when SmackDown Live invaded Monday Night Raw and took out most of their locker room.

Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer (h/t Sportskeeda) reported that Reigns is going to be named the team captain of Monday Night Raw at Survivor Series. Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose are already scheduled to face The Usos at the event, so The Shield reunion match is officially going to take more time to happen.

As of this writing, only Randy Orton is officially in the traditional Survivor Series match between Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live. It is expected that more superstars from both sides will compete in matches to determine the representatives. Reigns captaining the red brand is no surprise because he has been the face of Monday Night Raw for quite some time now.

However, the plans for Roman Reigns are still speculative at the moment. The WWE tends to change their plans on a regular basis, and they could easily reunite The Shield for a match. There is also a slight possibility that Reigns might not get cleared to return since some cases of mumps take several weeks to get cured.
