Is Briana DeJesus Responsible For A ‘Teen Mom 2’ Ratings Drop Like Kailyn Lowry Claims? The Numbers Revealed

Briana DeJesus is being blamed for a dip in the Teen Mom 2 ratings, but is she truly responsible for a drop?

On the heels of a shocking tweet sent from Kailyn Lowry’s account, which noted that ratings on the series have actually gone down since Briana DeJesus joined the show earlier this year, DeJesus fired back at her co-star with a message from their producer that claimed the show was doing fine.

As Radar Online revealed on October 27, the producer told Briana DeJesus that ratings for Teen Mom 2 had been “very good.” However, according to a report from Ratings by the Numbers, that doesn’t appear to be the case. Although the show isn’t exactly failing, the eighth season of Teen Mom 2 hasn’t done as well as its seventh.

As the outlet explained, the first half of Teen Mom 2 Season 7 premiered to 1,746,000 viewers and the second half premiered to 1,607,000 viewers. Then, several months later, after Briana DeJesus was added to the MTV reality series as the fifth girl, the Teen Mom 2 Season 8 premiere garnered just 1,487,000 viewers, a decrease of over 250,000 viewers from the first episode of Season 7.

As the season has continued, Teen Mom 2 appears to be losing steam, and an episode of the MTV show earlier this month captured just 1,081,000 fans.

Briana DeJesus and Kailyn Lowry have some personal beef between them due to the current relationship between DeJesus and Lowry’s ex-husband, Javi Marroquin, who is also the father of her 3-year-old son, Lincoln. As fans well know, DeJesus and Marroquin have been spending time together on and off for over a month and recently appeared to enjoy one another’s company during their visit to Los Angeles.

In addition to co-parenting with Javi Marroquin, Kailyn Lowry is also co-parenting with 7-year-old Isaac’s dad, Jo Rivera, and 2-month-old Lux Russell’s father, Chris Lopez. As for Briana DeJesus, she has two baby daddies, Devoin Austin and Luis Hernandez, both of whom have been in and out of their children’s lives.

To see more of Kailyn Lowry, Briana DeJesus, their families, and their co-stars, including Jenelle Evans, Leah Messer, and Chelsea Houska, tune into new episodes of Teen Mom 2 Season 8 on Monday nights at 9 p.m. on MTV.
