Melinda Showman-Pleskovic’s Facebook Photos, Death: 49-Year-Old Teacher’s Husband Tells 911 Of Thefts [Video]

The death of 49-year-old Melinda Showman-Pleskovic is sending shockwaves throughout Facebook as people who knew and loved the middle school teacher learn about her demise and begin to offer their comments of surprise. According to Fox8.com, Melinda lived on Blazing Star Drive in Strongsville, Ohio. The location of the crime and the surrounding neighborhood is noteworthy because Melinda’s husband claimed in the below 911 call that they have had recent break-in attempts. According to Zillow.com, homes on Blazing Star Drive are valued at around $200,000 and up.

Immediately after calling 911 and telling authorities that Showman-Pleskovic was dead, Melinda’s husband launched into whom he thought might be to blame for Melinda’s death. Her husband immediately assessed that Melinda had stab wounds on her back, not gunshot wounds, and began blaming an alleged recent spate of crime attempts in their area.

“It looks like she has stab wounds on her back. We’ve had people breaking in to our (expletive) house and now someone (expletive) killed her. We’ve had people trying to break into our house all year, stealing (expletive).”

Pleskovic was stabbed and later pronounced dead at Southwest General Health Center after Strongsville police and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations responded to the calls for help.

The 911 caller claimed he had just come home, accompanied by his new son-in-law, when he found Melinda dead.

According to the 911 call, Melinda’s son was in the house. Police in Strongsville began investigating the crime Monday night and well into Tuesday, as more details began to unfold. According to NewsNet5.com, the 911 caller spoke of Pleskovic’s death, a woman who taught sixth-grade for Strongsville City Schools.

The school district released a statement about Melinda’s death, calling the incident unsettling. Meanwhile, Blazing Star Drive neighbors call theirs a quiet neighborhood, but it’s not clear if the “issues with break-ins” that WEWS reporter Sarah Phinney writes about in her below tweet are from the 911 caller’s claims or additional reports.

Already, thoughts of disbelief of the death of Melinda are being expressed on Facebook, even as the Melinda Showman-Pleskovic Facebook page has not yet been memorialized as of this writing. Photos from Melinda’s Facebook page show her holding a baby, as well as other photos that display Showman-Pleskovic with presumed family members during the holidays with a Christmas tree behind the brood.

On Twitter, replies to the above tweets include responses from people commenting on what they deem is the dubious nature of the 911 call, and what Twitter users are pegging a calm or uncaring nature of the caller. As a result of Melinda’s shocking death, Strongsville is currently trending on Twitter. On Facebook, people writing about the Strongsville incident include a neighbor who lives literally next door on Blazing Star Drive, as well as others who write about the suspicious nature of the 911 call.
