Lil’ Flip Arrested On Gun And Drug Possession Charges

Lil’ Flip was arrested on gun and drug possession charges in Louisiana last Wednesday.

The “Game Over” rapper was pulled over for doing 86 in a 75 mph zone. Police officers found marijuana and a Bushmaster AR-15 assault rifle during a search of the vehicle. According to the Shreveport Times, the rapper — whose real name is Wesley Eric Weston — was charged with third-offense possession of marijuana, possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, and speeding.

Flip’s passenger, Olanza Sanders, was charged with illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Lil’ Flip is probably best known for his 2005 feud with T.I. The two rappers had an altercation in the Cloverland section of Houston after T.I. reportedly went to the neighborhood to create a DVD that exposed Flip as a fraud. Lil’ Flip and his people confronted T.I. and a fight broke out. One of T.I.’s bodyguard began shooting and the fight ended.

Later that day, T.I. said that he had the tape exposing Lil’ Flip and was planning to release it on a mixtape. CEO of Rap-a-lot Records, James Price, managed to talk him out of it, and mediated a resolution between T.I. and Flip.

Lil’ Flip has since all but disappeared from the rap game since that feud with T.I. His album, Ahead of My Time, was originally supposed to be released in 2007, but it was pushed back several times. It was finally released on July 6, 2010.

Lil’ Flip was still being held in jail on a $35,000 bond. Sanders posted a $25,000 bond and was released.
