Brad Pitt Dating Update: Ella Purnell Rumors Shut Down Amid Angelina Jolie Divorce [Debunked]

Brad Pitt and Ella Purnell made headlines earlier this week after an InTouch Weekly report claimed the two were on the verge of a romance amid Pitt’s divorce from estranged wife Angelina Jolie.

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Brad Pitt allegedly hand-selected Ella Purnell to star in his upcoming Starz series, Sweetbittter, after she won him over with her recent performances in Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children and Churchill. However, despite InTouch Weekly magazine’s claim that Pitt was taken by Purnell’s “spunky, funny demeanor” and “formidable acting skills,” Gossip Cop claims there is no truth to the report of a blooming relationship.

Brad Pitt is not “falling for” the 21-year-old British actress, Gossip Cop confirmed to readers on October 18, noting that Ella Purnell had starred as the teenage version of Angelina Jolie’s character in Maleficent.

In Touch Weekly‘s supposed insider had claimed Brad Pitt was “smitten” with Ella Purnell and claimed he had her in the mind for his Starz series from the get-go. As for Purnell’s alleged reaction to Pitt’s attention, the magazine said that she was flattered and had told her friends that she had a major crush on the 53-year-old father of six.

The magazine then said that Brad Pitt’s estranged wife, Angelina Jolie, was furious at the possibility of a romance between Pitt and her former Maleficent co-star, and noted that there was definite chemistry between Pitt and Purnell. They also noted that Pitt was planning to coach Purnell for her upcoming role in Sweetbitter himself but in response to the report, a source close to the actor told Gossip Cop that there was no truth to the magazine’s story.

Brad Pitt has faced a number of dating rumors in the months since he and Angelina Jolie called it quits but thus far, none of the reports have been true. As fans of the actor may recall, Pitt was linked to Kate Hudson just weeks after his marriage to Jolie came to an end and months later, he was tied to Sienna Miller after they reportedly attended a music festival overseas.
