Piers Morgan isn’t wanted in the US or the UK — at least if two counter petitions have anything to say in the matter.

The issue began when a group of Americans began a petition on the White House website to deport Morgan, a TV host, over his views on gun control.

While if appears that several Americans would be pleased with him being sent back to the UK, those living in the UK are none too thrilled by the prospect, according to The Guardian .

In response to the petition to deport Piers Morgan, about 3,000 people have signed a petition that would “Keep Piers Morgan in the USA.” The counter-petition appears to be fighting a losing battle, however, because the initial petition has more than 78,000 signatures. Part of it reads :

“British Citizen and CNN television host Piers Morgan is engaged in a hostile attack against the U.S. Constitution by targeting the Second Amendment. We demand that Mr. Morgan be deported immediately for his effort to undermine the Bill of Rights and for exploiting his position as a national network television host to stage attacks against the rights of American citizens.”

In response, the counter-petition against deporting Morgan reads:

“We want to keep Piers Morgan in the USA.

“There are two very good reasons for this. Firstly, the first amendment.

“Second and the more important point. No one in the UK wants him back.

“Actually there is a third. It will be hilarious to see how loads of angry Americans react.”

In order to receive a response to the petition, it must garner more than 25,000 signatures in its first month. The initial petition has surpassed that and it appears that the counter-petition will do so as well, making it possible that the White House will respond.

Do you think the government should deport Piers Morgan for his view on gun control?
