Just two days after the tragic discovery of the body of missing Florida 7-year-old Somer Thompson in a Georgia landfill, police in Missouri have made another sad discovery.
The body of 9-year-old Elizabeth Olten, missing since Wednesday, has been located in a wooded area west of Jefferson City. Elizabeth disappeared Wednesday night on the walk home from a friend's house after a conversation with her parents on the phone. Elizabeth's parents told her to "leave and get home," and Elizabeth subsequently vanished. Cole County Sheriff Greg White confirmed to Fox News that there was "no contact" from Elizabeth after that interaction.
Police say that an "older juvenile" lead them to Elizabeth's body and the same juvenile is being detained as a "person of interest" in Elizabeth's death. Cause of death and other details of the case have not been disclosed to press.
