Deaths Of Bronx Siblings From Blunt Force Trauma Ruled Homicides, Toddlers Died Within Minutes Of Each Other

Two Bronx siblings both died within a few minutes of each other after being rushed to Montefiore Medical Center early Monday morning. While it was first thought that the toddlers passed away from natural causes, it was later determined that the deaths of the 3-year-old boy and his 2-year-old sister have been ruled homicides.

According to The New York Times, Olivia and Micah Gee had autopsies done after there were bruises found on their small bodies. Police are now investigating each of their deaths as homicides. The Bronx siblings were found in their beds around 1 a.m. and then died about an hour later at the hospital.

Jade Spencer, the children’s mother, called 911 after the boy was said to have trouble breathing and the girl appeared to be unresponsive. After being rushed to the hospital, Olivia passed away at 2:10 a.m. Just a few minutes later, Micah was also gone.

According to what Spencer told the paramedics, they both suffered from asthma. However, they were found to have bruises on their bodies which quickly became suspicious. Both siblings had died from blunt trauma injuries on their torsos, according to the medical examiner.

The mother’s boyfriend, Norvell Jordan, was taken in for questioning, but he was later released. He did not appear to be living with the family at the time of the murders, according to Charles M. Zsebedics, the general manager of the Bronx building where the deaths occurred.

His recollection of the 31-year-old mother and her two kids was that she took good care of them. They were often seen out for walks in a stroller and taken out to play at the neighborhood playground. Zsebedics, and everyone else in the Bronx community, are all shocked and saddened by what happened to Olivia and Micah.

Another report by CBS New York said that the kids were put to bed around 8:30 p.m. The boyfriend was said to have arrived after that. Spencer told authorities that she fell asleep after she and Jordan had some beer and smoked marijuana while watching a movie. Hours later, he came rushing into the living room to tell her that the siblings were in trouble.

According to authorities, Jordan is a gang member and had been arrested four times prior to this incident. He has now obtained a lawyer and will be questioned further about the deaths of these Bronx siblings. The toddlers’ mother was said to be so distraught over her children that she was admitted to the hospital for a mental evaluation. Authorities also want to question her further on the events that led up to this tragedy.

The deaths of the Bronx siblings has everyone asking how something like this could happen to two innocent kids. The building residents and anyone who knows the family are devastated. Doris Spencer, Olivia and Micah’s grandmother, works at the Amalgamated Housing Co-Op as the educational director. She was reported to be completely distraught over the deaths of her grandchildren.
