‘General Hospital’ Rumors: Hayden And Finn Leaving – ‘GH’ Gossip Says Easton And Budig Want Out

General Hospital spoilers are in overdrive today thanks to the rumor mill on potential actor exits from the ABC soap. The latest grist for the gossip grinders is that both Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) and Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig) might be leaving Port Charles. Both are still currently under contract, and General Hospital spoilers promise neither is up for renewal anytime soon, but could there be a spark of truth to these exit rumors? Here’s what is known as of now.

Michael Easton exit rumors from credible source

The General Hospital spoilers on a possible Michael Easton exit originated from Daytime Confidential’s Jamey Giddens a couple of weeks ago on a weekly DC podcast. Jamey is a trusted source, so when he says an actor wants to leave, it’s worth listening to for just a minute. Jamey didn’t specify who wanted to leave GH on the podcast but played guessing games on Twitter for GH fans to speculate.

When no one guessed correctly, Jamey shared the pic below to drop a major hint. With Homer Simpson freebasing donut goo, it became apparent to all that the General Hospital cast exit rumor was about Michael Easton since Finn is the only druggie that we know of in Port Charles. Then today, another website added fuel to the Michael Easton rumor fire about a possible exit.

Easton headed to Days of Our Lives?

The crew over at Soap Opera Intel’s blog asks whether Ron Carlivati might have lured Easton over to NBC’s Days of Our Lives. They were inspired to craft this General Hospital spoilers alert after Michael Easton shared a photo of himself back from his DOOL days as Tanner Scofield. This blog post marks the second time that Easton and Days of Our Lives have cropped up as news items, so there may be something to this.

You can see below that GH’s Michael Easton randomly shared a pic of himself when he played Tanner on DOOL and captioned it, “Flashback Friday,” adding “Tanner promo photo (1991). Oh, the early nineties were strange days indeed,” prompting many to wonder why the actor would bring up Days of Our Lives out of the blue if there weren’t something to the rumor.

Rebecca Budig breaking her contract?

General Hospital spoilers told us that Rebecca Budig was initially brought to GH for a very short arc as Hayden Barnes and then was in a coma from a haphazard bullet. When Hayden woke from the coma, it was because Budig had scored a four-year contract that should take her all the way to 2019 on the ABC soap, but is she considering walking away for some reason?

The General Hospital rumor on Hayden’s exit comes from Twitter user Soap Chick, who wrote today, “Sorry Hayden fans, as much as I love her, Rebecca Buddig will be leaving GH,” and capped it with a cry face emoticon.

When prompted for details by other GH fans on Twitter, Soap Chick added, “Her choice, and I hope Finn gets to be a Playboy Doctor like Patrick Drake was.”

Of interest is that Soap Chick, who also scores with reasonable accuracy on General Hospital spoilers predictions, seems confident that Michael Easton isn’t going away from GH. Then again, perhaps Jamey Giddens and Soap Chick have independent sources behind the scenes at the ABC soap, and they get selective tidbits. Both General Hospital exit rumors could be valid. We’ll see.

Some other General Hospital spoilers spilled when Nathan Varni was on a recent podcast, and he shot down Nikolas Cassadine resurrection rumors but made no mention of Easton or Budig. Other recent General Hospital rumors proposed that GH was looking to add eight roles to the cast but made no mention of exits.
