‘The Walking Dead’s’ Norman Reedus Could Be The New Ghost Rider Says Gabriel Luna
The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus is a very busy guy, but perhaps not too busy to portray Johnny Blaze the original Ghost Rider on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. It seems Gabriel Luna has recommended Reedus for the part recently, according to Omega Underground.
Gabriel Luna told an audience at the Pheonix Comic Con recently he wants The Walking Dead’s legendary Daryl to play Johnny Blaze. Gabriel Luna portrays Robbie Reyes and is already known as Ghost Rider on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. So why is Luna so eager to have another Ghost Rider around?
The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus is awesome for one thing, but also Gabriel Luna would probably be featured heavily in episodes of Agent’s of S.H.I.E.L.D. with Norman Reedus as Johnny Blaze. Plus, Luna may be hoping for a spinoff series. The two Ghost Rider incarnations would be a duo perhaps.
When Gabriel Luna was cast as Robbie Reyes, it was believed that Marvel could not get the rights back from 20th Century Fox for the name Johnny Blaze, according to Movie Pilot. Now it appears they might have been saving that role, since, after all, Ghost Rider is transferred power given to different Ghost Rider characters over time.
Norman Reedus, Daryl of The Walking Dead, would portray Johnny Blaze. Blaze is the same character portrayed by Nicolas Cage in two Ghost Rider films.
The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus told Uproxx he liked Cage’s portrayal of Ghost Rider, even though some critics were critical of Cage. Nicolas Cage is the guy who helped Johnny Depp get started in acting. Nicolas is also an amazing and prolific actor, averaging about a dozen films a year for most of his career.

The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus is very in demand, but The Walking Dead actor seems to find time to do the projects he really wants to do, and he said he was interested in the Ghost Rider role with Gabriel Luna. It was in June 2016 that The Walking Dead fan favorite first told Uproxx he’d love to be Johnny Blaze in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Norman Reedus is busy filming The Walking Dead Season 8 until November but after that? Well, there is The Ride With Norman Reedus to be filmed in early spring, but that is only six episodes per year. Norman has said he’d love to play the role of Ghost Rider in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus could find the time to be Ghost Rider on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. especially since there seems to be no real rush. The plan has reportedly been in the works for about a year now.
The Walking Dead was filming Season 7 when Norman Reedus told Uproxx he’d love a chance to portray the senior Ghost Rider Johnny Blaze. Sadly, it hasn’t happened yet, but since Gabriel Luna has mentioned The Walking Dead’s Daryl for the role of Ghost Rider again, a year later, perhaps the plan is still in the works.
