‘The Walking Dead’ Season 8: Spoilers, No Single-Character Episodes And Tom Payne’s Promise Of ‘Amazing’ Show

Fans of The Walking Dead are overjoyed to hear from new Season 8 spoilers that there will be no single-character episodes, with Tom Payne (Jesus) telling viewers that they can expect a truly amazing new installment of this television show. Season 7 of The Walking Dead had its fair share of critics, many of whom felt that the show was just too slow-moving and lacked the excitement and luster of the first episode, which was characterized by Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Negan) battering his opponents into submission with his beloved barbed-wire bat he calls Lucille.

One of the newest Season 8 spoilers of The Walking Dead is Tom Payne’s promise to that the show will now be “completely different,” even “out-of-this world amazing.” This is sure to placate critics of the last series, who look to Season 8 for some serious changes.

Payne admits that it is the job and duty of actors to hype up shows, but says that while in the past his fellow actors may have spoken to the press in jubilant terms about upcoming seasons, this time Season 8 of The Walking Dead really will be more adventurous and fast-paced, as Digital Spy reports.

“I think Season 8, that we’re getting into now, it’s completely different first of all. I always told myself I wouldn’t say what I’ve heard other cast members say every other year, which is, ‘Oh the next season is gonna be this! And the new episode is so many superlatives and so many words you use!’ And I’m like, ‘Come on, you can’t say the same things every year!’ But then I had to bite my tongue and say, ‘Well, actually…'”

Andrew Lincoln (Rick) has stated in previous spoilers that Season 8 of The Walking Dead will absolutely hold more thrill for viewers and Tom Payne agrees. He notes that even though cast members were excited when they read the script for the first few episodes, with each successive episode after those they knew that viewers would be happy with the direction that The Walking Dead has now taken.

“Season 8, the first few episodes are out-of-this-world amazing. We’ve all been getting them and going, ‘Wow, okay, we thought that was amazing!’ and then the next episode is amazing. The audience is going to be very happy with the direction we’re taking. We’re all really happy.”

Another huge spoiler for Season 8 of The Walking Dead is that showrunner Scott Gimple has assured viewers that those long, single-character focused episodes from Season 7 will now be a thing of the past. Gimple has said that they now want to “mix it up” with the show to keep things more interesting, as Digital Spy reported.

The Walking Dead has technically always mixed things up, but it wasn’t until the last season that fans became frustrated at the slow pace of the television series and were extremely vocal when it came to expressing their displeasure at what had happened to the show after the first couple of episodes.

Scott Gimple maintains that there won’t be any more of those long shows that delve deeply into the psyches of different characters in Season 8 of The Walking Dead.

“We knew we wanted to mix it up in 8, and we knew what 8 was going to be and how that would dictate a very different kind of structure. So, yeah, things are going to move, and possibly not have the kind of deep dives into characters in single episodes, but rather laying out the pieces as we go on.”
