Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston’s relationship was one that not many people were able to get over. Although the two split up several years ago, people have been hoping and praying that Anison would someday get an apology from Pitt, who cheated on her with Angelina Jolie while filming Mr. & Mrs. Smith. At the time, the news was shocking and people were forced to choose a side: Team Aniston or Team Jolie. As you can probably imagine, Team Aniston fans were simply heartbroken for Jennifer and have wanted some kind of karma to rear its ugly head. The day that Brangelina broke up was the day that karma came through.
And some people simply couldn’t be happier. The memes that were published on social media were some of the best ever (especially that one of Aniston with a smirk on her face and the caption, “new phone, who dis?”).
It didn’t take long until the rumor mill overflowed with stories. Once Pitt split from Jolie, reports that he was back in contact with Aniston started surfacing — and they haven’t stopped since.
Aniston is happily married to actor Justin Theroux, but that has not kept some tabloids from claiming that she and Brad Pitt are reconciling, which might be the most far-fetched story out there. It’s hard to believe that Aniston would want anything to do with her ex-husband these days. The relationship died many, many moons ago, after all.
Aniston and Pitt have completely moved on from the time they were married and any report of them talking again probably isn’t true. Unless either Jennifer Aniston or Brad Pitt come forward and actually say that they have talked, these stories can’t be trusted.
And while an apology from Pitt might be nice, it doesn’t sound like it happened. Despite several outlets claiming that Pitt called Aniston and offered her an apology, that doesn’t seem to be the case.
According to Gossip Cop, reports that Pitt phoned Aniston are completely false. The site dug a bit deeper and was able to confirm that Pitt and Aniston didn’t talk — he didn’t say that he was sorry and he didn’t ask for her forgiveness. Period.
“Gossip Cop looked into the tabloid’s story, and a trustworthy source close to Pitt exclusively assures us he didn’t call his ex-wife to ask her forgiveness. As Gossip Cop noted, Pitt and Aniston have exchanged friendly texts in recent months, but the magazine’s story about a fawning apology simply isn’t true.”
The site goes on to say that they’ve debunked several other stories involving Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston. The two aren’t talking, they aren’t starring in a movie together, and they most certainly aren’t getting back together.
“We’ve debunked countless stories about the exes over the years, especially in the wake of the actor’s divorce from Jolie. Gossip Cop previously called out Life & Style‘s sister publication, In Touch, for publishing a false cover story about Pitt and Aniston co-starring in a movie to get ‘revenge’ on Jolie. We also busted the magazine’s phony cover story about a nonexistent “secret reunion” between Pitt and Aniston.”
