WWE’s Brie Bella Gets Real About Postpartum Body, Reveals She’s Coming Back To The Ring ‘Definitely Soon’

Brie Bella isn’t afraid of getting real about the weight she gained and how her body looks after giving birth. While some moms would dread going out in public and show off their postpartum body, the WWE star took to Instagram to flaunt what she got.

Nikki Bella’s twin became an inspiration to a lot of new moms when she posted a photo of her belly without shame. Bella welcomed her first child with husband Daniel Bryan (also Bryan Danielson) on May 9, a daughter named Birdie Joe. The 33-year-old wrestling star has started documenting her journey to getting back the body she had before she got pregnant.

Brie was proud of what she has accomplished – being a mom. In an Instagram post on May 27, she let her 5.1 million followers know that there’s no shame about having a bulging belly and stretch marks.

“[Seventeen] days since I’ve given birth and I have zero shame in my postpartum belly!! Graced with some stretch marks and 20 more pounds to lose I’m finally able to start a little cardio. Join me on my journey to getting back my pre-pregnancy body. It’s gonna be a long road but I’m ready!!!”

Bella also showed off her progress on YouTube, where she has almost 700,000 subscribers. In the video dated May 25, she was seen measuring her waist, which is now at 37.5 inches. Brie pointed out areas on her body that had stretch marks and also revealed she had already lost 25 pounds of water weight after giving birth to Birdie a couple of weeks ago. To get back to the body she had before Birdie, Brie would still need to lose 20 pounds more.

In the clip, Brie (whose real name is Brianna Monique Danielson) also hinted that she may come back to the ring someday because that’s what she wanted. However, this plan could be pushed back further since the new mom had an emergency C-section.

The diva initially tried to have a natural delivery, but she was in labor for 22 hours and because of her tight abs, she had to go under the knife, as revealed by her twin, Nikki, who told E! News.

“She tried to go natural, and it was like eight or 10 hours into it had to get an epidural and then in the end had to get a C-section. Her abs were too tight! Go figure. Leave it to the WWE Superstar, abs too tight!”

Now that she’s on her way back to her fitness routine, Brie confirmed that she got the go signal from her doctors to use the bike, which the family has in their own home gym. Brie will start with arm workouts first because she can’t do core exercises just yet. In six weeks, though, she can start with some serious core workouts as her scar will have healed by then. The Total Divas star also encouraged new moms to join her journey in getting back into shape, telling her audience to “do it one step at a time.”

As for her return to the WWE ring, Brie Bella was honest about wanting to get back there someday. There may not be an exact date for it but she’s looking forward to it soon.

“Now I’m just going to kind of take you guys on the journey of myself getting back in shape, getting my abs back, and hopefully getting back in shape to get back in that ring someday soon. Maybe not very soon, but definitely soon.”

At the moment, fans can catch Brie’s journey and watch out for her progress as she documents it on the YouTube channel, the Bella Twins, which also features her husband Daniel, sister Nikki and John Cena.
