Joy-Anna Duggar Gets Married Over The Weekend! See Details Of Her Surprise Wedding

It’s confirmed: Joy-Anna Duggar is married. After only three months of engagement, the Counting On star said “I do” to fiance Austin Forsyth on Friday, just as fans have suspected.

Joy-Anna’s wedding still comes as a surprise since the Duggar family did not announce any details about it. Fans previously thought it was going to be in October of this year, as listed on Joy-Anna and Austin’s online wedding registry. However, rumors started to surface that the wedding may be happening sooner than expected: this weekend.

Fans were ultimately right, and Joy-Anna wed Austin on Friday, May 26, in a chapel in Arkansas. Ever the proud parents, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar revealed the exciting news on their official Facebook page and posted a wedding photo of the young couple.

“What an absolutely wonderful day our family will always treasure. As parents, we could not be more grateful for the godly woman Joy has become, and the loving husband she married! We love you, Joy and Austin and are so happy for you both, as you embark on this exciting journey together!”

TLC also broke the news via a short video posted on TLC Me, with the new Mrs. and Mrs. Austin Forsyth speaking directly to their fans just moments after their wedding ceremony.

“I don’t even know all the responsibilities of being a wife, but I’m just happy,” the 19-year-old bride says in the video. “But so far it’s incredible!”

As for the groom, Austin said that getting married is “a huge burden” off his shoulders.

“Finally being married to her is just a tremendous weight lifted off. I’m just looking forward to sharing my life, its good times and its chellenges with my best friend, having someone there to support me and love me and always be there for me.”

According to sources, Joy-Anna and Austin’s wedding ceremony took place at a local church the Duggars frequently go to in their hometown. In the exclusive wedding photo released by People, the beautiful bride is seen wearing a traditional white gown made of lace. Her veil is kept short and simple with lace trimmings.

It would be interesting to see how Joy-Anna followed the Duggar girls’ tradition of wearing a piece of their grandma’s wedding gown as their “something old.” For Jinger’s wedding, she had a scrap of lace cut into a heart and sewn onto her dress.

If Joy-Anna’s big day is anything like a regular Duggar wedding, it’s safe to say that it would have been large and grand. All previous Duggar weddings were huge — Jinger’s wedding had more than 1,000 guests. Based on the floral bouquet Joy-Anna is seen clutching in the photo, her wedding may have had a rustic sunset theme. Her bouquet includes orange tulips and white roses.

Joy-Anna is the fifth Duggar child to get married, after her brother Josh, and sisters Jessa, Jill, and Jinger. Joy-Anna and Austin were childhood friends of over 15 years before they announced their courtship. They made the special revelation on an episode of Counting On last November. A few months later, the two got engaged. Austin’s romantic proposal in the woods is one of the highlights of the upcoming new season of their reality show.

Though theirs might seem like a whirlwind engagement, Joy has said that she’s ready to commit herself to her fiance. Last February, she told People that she has already experienced so much in their relationship.

“Lots of church ministries, road trips, hiking, hunting and remodeling houses together. It’s really special that I got to grow up with him and my family knows him really well.”

Joy-Anna and Austin announced that their wedding will be seen on Counting On Season 3 when it premieres on June 12 on TLC.
