WWE Rumors: Rusev Getting Added To The Money In The Bank Ladder Match?

Rusev has been out of action since WWE Fastlane 2017 when he was defeated by Big Show in a Singles Match. He has teased his return at WWE Money in the Bank 2017 and he might get added to the Money in the Bank Ladder Match. However, Rusev is still not cleared from his injury but he is getting closer to becoming 100 percent healthy.

SEScoops reported that Rusev underwent shoulder surgery last March 9 and he was ruled out for two months. The Bulgarian Brute went on to miss WrestleMania 33 due to the injury and he, along with Lana, was moved from Monday Night Raw to SmackDown Live in the Superstar Shake-Up.

It has been more than two months since Rusev had surgery to repair his shoulder injury but he has not been cleared to return. However, Rusev has posted videos on social media threatening to not make his debut for SmackDown Live if general manager Shane McMahon does not grant him a WWE title match at WWE Money in the Bank 2017.

According to a report by Cageside Seats, Rusev might not be getting what he wants but he will get an opportunity to have a future WWE title shot that he can use anytime, anywhere in the next year. The latest WWE rumors suggest that Rusev could get added to the 2017 Money in the Bank Ladder Match that will bring the number of participants up to seven.

The report added that Rusev will surely get added to the match if he gets cleared by WWE doctors before the event. WWE Money in the Bank 2017 is set to happen on June 28 at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri. Shane McMahon has already announced the participants in this past Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown Live.

As recapped by WWE.com, McMahon revealed that A.J. Styles, Kevin Owens, Shinsuke Nakamura, Dolph Ziggler, Sami Zayn, and Baron Corbin will be battling each other in a Ladder Match to win the Money in the Bank briefcase. Rusev adds more star power to the match and seven is the typical number of participants of a Money in the Bank Ladder Match.

Rusev is having an up and down career in the WWE ever since making his main roster debut at the WWE Royal Rumble 2014. He had an undefeated streak that saw him win the United States Championship and defeat former WWE world champions like Jack Swagger, Mark Henry, Big Show, Sheamus, and John Cena. Rusev went on to face Cena at WrestleMania 31 wherein he lost the U.S. title after a miscommunication with Lana.

After losing the feud to Cena, Rusev got lost in the shuffle wherein he was involved in two of the worst WWE storylines of 2015 and the early part of 2016. The WWE inserted Rusev and Lana to a cringe-worthy love-square angle with Dolph Ziggler and Summer Rae that ended up doing nothing for everyone involved.

Rusev then became part of The League of Nations along with Sheamus, Alberto Del Rio, and Wade Barrett. However, the stable was formed to make Roman Reigns look strong and it did not even work. The group ended up being disbanded with Rusev getting a midcard push after WrestleMania 32. Rusev ended up winning the U.S. championship for the second time but he was fed to Reigns once again.

The Super Athlete was not so super before his injury as he was involved in a storyline with Enzo Amore and Big Cass hitting on his real-life wife Lana. Rusev then proceeded to team up with Jinder Mahal before splitting up at WWE Fastlane 2017. Now that he is closer to being cleared to return, Rusev will reportedly get another push.

A report by Still Real To Us noted that Rusev is set to feud with Shane McMahon and it will culminate in a match at WWE SummerSlam 2017. Whatever the WWE is planning for Rusev, it is going to help him rejuvenate his career. The WWE needs to let Rusev be himself and become one of the top stars of the company. However, it should be pointed out that the plans for Rusev are just rumors at the moment and should be taken with a grain of salt.
