‘My 600-lb Life’ Christina Update: After Overcoming Body Image Issues, Christina Is Now Even More Stunning

Christina Phillips’ transformation from being morbidly obese to weighing less than 200 pounds is one of My 600-lb Life‘s most interesting cases. While Christina started off weighing over 700 pounds, she was able to lose her weight quickly. Far too quickly, in fact, to the point where Dr. Nowzaradan himself had to tell her to slow down and gain some weight before she could qualify for skin removal surgery. Now, since appearing on the hit reality TV show, Christina has spoken out about her current experiences, as well as her progress since going on her weight-loss journey.

One of Christina’s biggest issues even after her weight loss involved her body image. According to the former 708-pounder, she still felt as if she was overweight despite losing so much of her weight, according to a report from The Daily Mail. In a particularly heartbreaking statement, Christina stated that once her weight goes up, even by just a little, she would react by starving herself for days. Her body image issues were so severe that Houston-based weight loss expert Dr. Nowzaradan advised her to seek the help of a therapist to aid her in overcoming her psychological struggles.

“I know I’m not 700lbs anymore, but I still feel that way. And I don’t know how to change how I feel.”

Since appearing on the show, it appeared that Christina’s ultimate recovery was still highly dependent on how well she could overcome her body image issues. Thanks to a recent report from PEOPLE, however, avid My 600-lb Life fans have been able to get a glimpse of Christina’s progress since appearing on the show.

So far, Christina has dropped almost 540 pounds from her original 708-lb weight. Needless to say, she looks downright stunning at her current weight of 183 pounds, to the point where she almost seems like an entirely different person. What’s interesting was that Christina appears to have finally overcome her body image issues, stating in an interview with PEOPLE that she is a lot more optimistic now than before.

“It’s been pretty amazing having my life back. I’m able to do so much more now. It’s pretty great. Before I couldn’t walk eight feet without feeling like I was gonna die. Now, I could do just about anything I put my mind to.”

Christina further stated in the PEOPLE interview that she currently enjoys the simple things in life, such as going for a walk and accompanying her nephew to the park. Overall, it appears that Christina has finally embraced her new, reformed self entirely, and this has been appreciated by her supporters as well as avid fans of the hit reality TV show.

“The simple things in life are enjoyable to me. I know that seems silly but it’s the honest answer. Just walking and being able to go to the park with my nephew. It’s the most simple thing like taking him to the park or going shopping or driving.”

“I’m so much more happier now. Being able to wake up in the morning and get out of bed without feeling like I’m gonna die, I thank God every morning for that,” Phillips adds. “I am so blessed to have a second chance at life.”

Christina’s personal Facebook page includes some recent photos of herself as she continued on her journey to take back her life from morbid obesity. Needless to say, she looks downright stunning now, and she seems genuinely happy. From what could be determined from the few updates that she posts every so often, it appears that the My 600-lb Life subject might really go down in the hit reality TV show’s history as one of the most successful cases to date.
