Ashton Kutcher As Steve Jobs: Uncanny Resemblance In First Official Photo
Ashton Kutcher will play Steve Jobs in the forthcoming biopic Jobs, and the first official picture from the movie has revealed a seriously spooky resemblance between the pair.
Even allowing for hair and make-up, the photo of 34-year-old Kutcher as a young Steve Jobs is uncannily close to the real thing. The image, which is based on a similar 1977 file photo of Jobs (you can see the original below), shows Kutcher perched on a desk in front of what looks like an Apple II computer and a “THINK” poster.
Earlier this year, Kutcher was snapped on set and in character as the late Apple founder, who passed away from pancreatic cancer in October 2011. In those early pictures of the movie’s production, Kutcher was seen playing Jobs as he “tripped” on LSD; the Apple boss was open about the fact he had dabbled with hallucinatory drugs in the 1970s, and the movie will portray this part of his life.
The newer, more posed shot may just surprise fans of the Apple design guru and Kutcher, whose dated side parting hairstyle and beard perfectly match those of the Apple boss, circa 1977.
Kutcher’s co-star Josh Gad, who plays Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak in the project, has been bowled over by Kutcher’s transformation into Jobs. Gad previously told Us Weekly:
“Ashton is going to blow a lot of people away. His performance was absolutely transformational. If he looked any more like Steve Jobs, I think it would just confuse a lot of people. It’s that uncanny.”
Comparing the photo above with the two images of Jobs below, I’m inclined to agree. What do you make of Ashton Kutcher as Steve Jobs?
