Melania Trump Pulls Away From Donald In Tel Aviv, Refuses To Hold Hands [Video]
Melania Trump refused to hold hands with her husband when they arrived in Tel Aviv, Israel, on Monday. The video below shows Donald stretching his left his hand slightly behind him to reach for Melania’s, but she quickly slaps it down.
In Saudi Arabia, Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump held hands, but the president and Melania didn’t. Perhaps the first lady is more sensitive to Middle East customs and wants to refrain from showing any public displays of affection. After all, they are foreign guests, and the cultural norms in that part of the world are extremely conservative.
When Donald and Melania Trump touched down in Tel Aviv, they were met with another lavish welcome. The couple were walking down the red carpet when Melania refused to hold his hand, TMZ reports. The president wanted to hold her hand, but she outright wasn’t “having it.” Previous reports have cited their awkward hand-holding as being forced or signs that a divorce is on the horizon. This incident was clear that Melania was sending her husband a message in front of the whole world.
The last time Donald and Melania Trump were analyzed for their hand-holding ritual was a few months ago when the two arrived in Florida on their way to Mar-a-Lago. Melania was the one who reached for the president’s hand, but he was the one reluctantly held it before quickly letting go. A body language expert assessed that Donald was trying to establish himself as the nation’s leader and wanted to appear in complete control as the “presidential alpha.”
TMZ surmises that maybe Melania refused to hold her husband’s hand because it was a “turbulent flight from Saudi Arabia.” Whatever the reason, she didn’t see it as the right time to show any physical affection.

The White House has debunked all of the reports as false and baseless. A new report contradicts all of the negative stories written about the Trumps’ marriage. The story alleges that Melania Trump is quite protective of her husband and how he’s portrayed in the media. As the Inquisitr reports, Melania isn’t pleased with how some working for the president’s communications team are handling his image, especially Press Secretary Sean Spicer. She thinks he’s doing very little to defend her husband and wants him replaced.
“She was really concerned that Spicer was not doing a good job, that they were not proactive in defending the president,” an outside adviser told Politico. “The leaks bother her. She believes a lot of people are more interested in serving themselves than him.”
Roger Stone, a longtime associate of Donald Trump’s, cautions that Melania shouldn’t be underestimated. He explains that some might think of her as some “mannequin,” but she’s “very smart” and has “excellent instincts into who is trying to exploit their influence” over Trump.
Melania Trump refusing to hold Donald’s hand was probably nothing more than reminding to him it wasn’t appropriate in the Middle Eastern nation. As some may recall, she had to nudge him to put his hand over his heart when the National Anthem played at the Easter Egg Roll in April at the White House.
