Selena Gomez Twitter: Singer Celebrates ‘Bad Liar’ Success, Will She Perform At The Billboard Music Awards?

Selena Gomez is thrilled with the positive reception to her latest single, “Bad Liar,” and has taken to Twitter to express her excitement.

After the release of the 24-year-old singer’s new track, Gomez quoted two tweets, one from Pitchfork and another from David Byre.

“[Selena Gomez]’s ‘Bad Liar’ is named Best New Track,” Pitchfork announced to its fans and followers.

In response, Gomez quoted the post and added a heart emoji.

She then shared a tweet from Byrne, which read, “I really like the song…and her performance too,” and responded, saying, “AH, thank you!!”

For several days leading up to the single’s release, Selena Gomez mentioned the track frequently on both Twitter and Instagram and even shared a teaser clip from the music video earlier this week. The single marks the first from Selena Gomez since Revival was released years ago. Although the singer was featured on a number of songs in 2016, including Cashmere Cat’s “Trust Nobody” and Charlie Puth’s “We Don’t Talk Anymore,” and Kygo’s 2017 track, “It Ain’t Me,” “Bad Liar” is her first actual single since 2015.

“[Selena Gomez] is super excited about debuting new music. She can’t wait to drop a single from her new album this week to give her fans a taste of what else is on the way,” an insider told Hollywood Life on May 15.

Although there have been no official comments made about the possibility of Selena Gomez performing at the upcoming 2017 Billboard Music Awards, which will be held this Sunday, May 21, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, the report claimed Gomez has been practicing in hopes of landing a performer role during the show.

If Selena Gomez does perform at the live show this weekend, the performance will be her first since August 2016, when she abruptly canceled her Revival World Tour and entered into a three-month treatment program for issues with anxiety, depression and panic attacks.

Hollywood Life went on to reveal that Selena Gomez reportedly “hopes the remainder of her album will be available in August.”

“[Selena Gomez] feels confident about her new album and all her new music. She has one of the hottest boyfriends in the industry in [The Weeknd], who has been super loving and supportive of her through this entire process,” the insider added.

Selena Gomez began dating The Weeknd, real name Abel Tesfaye, months ago and in January, they confirmed their relationship publicly with a joint outing in Santa Monica. Since then, the couple has been traveling all over the globe and recently made their red carpet debut at the Met Gala in New York City.

While Selena Gomez and The Weeknd haven’t been hiding from the paparazzi, they also haven’t discussed their relationship with press. That said, a report days ago suggested the pair’s romance has been a good thing for Gomez.

“Having Abel in her life has given [Selena Gomez] new found strength and confidence. She credits her fresh, sexy romance with making her feel healthier and more alive than ever before,” a source told Hollywood Life earlier this week. “Abel’s experience in the industry and his own success have put him in a unique position to give her great advice on her own career decisions.”

Prior to her relationship with The Weeknd, Selena Gomez was involved in a drama-plagued relationship with Justin Bieber that had been on and off for months until the former pair infamously came to blows on Instagram last year just weeks before she began her stint in rehab.
