Lucy Sparkles Reward: $1,000 For Lost Kangaroo’s Return In Oklahoma

Missing kangaroo Lucy Sparkles’ reward (for her safe return) has reached $1,000, as an Oklahoma family hopes the unusual missing marsupial will be reunited with her humans.

Lucy Sparkles’ reward comes after her disappearance last week, on Thanksgiving. Shawnee couple Shayla and Larry Menhusen were hosting the fam at their house to celebrate the traditional day of thanks when the pet kanga hopped the coop, despite enjoying time with seven of the clan’s youngsters — including the Menhusen’s three little girls.

Kangaroo Lucy Sparkles delighted the kids, and she appeared to in turn be having a good time herself. But Shayla says that the 11-month old Lucy Sparkles may have been stressed out by the Thanksgiving hullabaloo (because really, who isn’t?), prompting her to hop off into the night.

As she explains Lucy Sparkles’ reward and pleas for the baby kanga’s safe return, Menhusen recalls the night the pet went missing. She says:

” … I think Lucy got startled. It was an unusual amount of noise for her … Lucy hopped around the back of our home where her house is and my husband went back there to close up her gate.”

But Larry was unable to find Lucy Sparkles anywhere, and the marsupial failed to respond in the way in which she normally communicates — Shayla says:

“She usually responds back with this particular kangaroo sound, but we don’t think she could hear him.”

So how does one go about claiming the Lucy Sparkles’ reward offered? Shayla explains that luring the baby kangaroo is not as difficult as it may sound, and says:

“If you have a pouch like a pillow case, you can hold it a foot in the air and she’ll hop right in … Oh, and she loves Cheetos.”

Lucy Sparkles’ reward was originally set at $500, but the family hopes the higher amount will reunite them with their ‘roo.
