Larry Hagman Dead: Stars Remember JR Ewing On Twitter
Larry Hagman passed away last night at the age of 81.
Hagman, who starred as one of television’s most memorable villains, died on Friday due to complications from his battle with cancer.
His family released a statement saying:
“Larry was back in his beloved hometown of Dallas, re-enacting the iconic role he loved the most. Larry’s family and closest friends had joined him in Dallas for the Thanksgiving holiday.”
Hagman first gained fame in the 1960s for his role as Captain Tony Nelson on I Dream Of Jeanie. A few years later he became a star when he played J.R. Ewing on the show Dallas.
Linda Gray, who played his on-screen wife, said:
“Larry Hagman was my best friend for 35 years. He was the Pied Piper of life and brought joy to everyone he knew. He was creative, generous, funny, loving and talented, and I will miss him enormously. He was an original and lived life to the fullest.”
Hagman was also remembered by several other celebrities on Twitter.
