Secretary of State Hillary Clinton just could not keep her eyes open during President Obama’s speech in Myanmar on Monday.
Clinton is just a few weeks shy of retirement , and the first sign that she may be checking out early occurred Monday during President Obama’s address to Myanmar about reconciliation, reform, and a bunch of other things that Clinton probably didn’t catch.
Now, we’ll go easy on Clinton. We like her. She’s a busy gal, jet-setting around the world and texting Stacy and Adam , and all that. She observes a hectic schedule that many of us can’t even fathom, and all of that jet-lag and caffeine burn has to catch up to you sometime.
President Obama’s voice is another factor. It is known for making women faint and sending shivers up Chris Matthews’ leg . If you love President Obama, you know exactly what I’m talking about. If you can’t stand him, you also know what I’m talking about. Most of us find ourselves laughing at his jokes, smiling at his charms, and feeling pretty happy after he talks even if, upon reflection, we find that we disagree with almost everything he said .
Putting someone to sleep? That’s a new one.
But still, below you can see it for yourself. President Obama speaks with all the passion and poetry he has become so well known for over the past several years, and poor Hillary Clinton just can’t seem to stay awake. The best part about this video? Clinton is sitting right next to Nobel Peace Prize winner Aung San Suu Kyi. Maybe you can get to a point where so many amazing things happen to you with such regularity that it all sort of becomes mundane.
