Ding Dongs And Twinkies Cause Frenzy On eBay

How much would you pay for a couple of Ding Dongs? Now that Hostess is closing down the price for Ding Dongs, Twinkies, Hostess cupcakes and Chocodiles have skyrocketed on eBay.

A box of Ding Dongs is listed for $100 on the auction site. A box of Twinkies is being listed for… wait for it… $250,000.

Yes, that number has six digits.

No one has placed a bid for that box of Twinkies yet but as time goes on, and Twinkies become more and more rare, somebody may become desperate enough to plunk down a quarter of a million dollars for the last box of Twinkies in the world.

There are some pretty expensive snack foods on eBay at the moment but so far no one has ponied up the dough. In fact, Hostess only announced that it was closing its doors today so junk food fans should still be able to find Ding Dongs, Twinkies and other Hostess’ products on store shelves for the next few days.

Once that supply runs dry, however, eBay sellers could start making a pretty penny.

Here are some of the most expensive Hostess products on eBay at the moment.

$250,000 Buy It Now Price for 1 Box of Twinkies. (Free shipping) Seller writes: “Brand new box of Hostess Twinkies. Item will be insured and picked up locally after payment in full. This is a great collectors item that can be passed down to family members and will only gain in value!”

$100,000 Starting Bid For A Box Of Hostess Cupcakes. Seller writes: “One of the last boxes of Hostess Cupcakes. Expire November 27th.”

So, what’s your bet? How high will the price go for a box of Twinkies?
