Katie Holmes First Post-Tom Cruise Interview Showcased Her Playful Side

Katie Holmes engaged in her first interview since her widely publicized divorce from Tom Cruise on Thursday evening. During an appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Holmes readily participated in light-hearted banter with the enigmatic host. Fallon did not venture anywhere near the topic of the divorce or custody arrangement during the interview.

Holmes noted she will be home for the holidays with her family in Ohio. She discussed her father’s tradition of leading the family on a 3-mile run he affectionately calls the “Turkey Trot.” Tom Cruise’s ex-wife also stated that she was agreeable to the idea of a “reboot” of Dawson’s Creek. The former star of the hit 90s television show was a bit skeptical about how story lines would evolve after the way the series ended in 2003, Radar Online reports.

Katie had this to say during the Jimmy Fallon interview:

“I love everyone from the show and we have kind of talked about it here and there, but what do you do? Michelle’s [Williams] character passed away on our last episode, we were already five years older. Maybe we’ll go on vacation, that will be fun … and just film it!”

After Holmes and Fallon finished their chat, the pair played charades to entertain the audience. Katie Homes tried to act out the “Hit Me With Your Best Shot” song title.

Life after Tom Cruise appears to be agreeing with the brunette actress. Suri’s mommy is starring in a new Broadway show, Dead Accounts. She referred to the stage production as a comedy with a lot of heavy themes. The show is directed by Jack O’Brien and opens at the Music Box Theatre in New York City on November 29.
