Pat Robertson Surprised That Women Enjoy ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ [Video]

Conservative Christian and 700 Club host Pat Robertson recently expressed his amazement that women actually enjoy books like Fifty Shades of Grey.

According to MSN, Robertson isn’t didn’t limit his observations about the book to what was contained between the covers. In addition to discussing Fifty Shades of Grey, Robertson painted an unflattering physical description of the book’s author, E.L. James. In Robertson’s eyes, the writer is a “little housewife-y type who doesn’t look like some glamour queen.”

Pat Robertson seemed genuinely shocked that women are fans of pornography. In the video embedded below, the man seems distressed by this information.

“We always thought this was a male thing, a boy thing, a guy thing,” Robertson explained to co-host Kristi Watts. “But now it looks like 30 percent of women are involved in pornography.”

“Who would have thought?” Robertson added.

If the 700 Club host is freaked out by the fact that women are reading Fifty Shades of Grey, then Robertson is surely going to have a lot to say once the cinematic adaptation of the book hits the big screen.

Although a number of ladies are drawn to the erotic adventures of Anastasia Steele, not all of them wind up being fans. During a recent interview with Backstage, Breaking Dawn – Part 2 star Kristen Stewart detailed her recent encounter with the naughty novel.

Considering the book originally started as sexy Twilight fan faction, Stewart explained that reading the story was a little strange.

“When I read the first few pages describing her messy hair, I was like, ‘This is so strange.’ But it’s just so raunchy!” she said. “I mean, obviously, everyone knows that. But when I see people reading it on planes and stuff, I’m genuinely creeped out. Like, you’re basically just reading porn right now! Get that blanket off your lap!”
