Grey’s Anatomy’s very own Sara Ramirez is now gushing about the wonders of married life, after getting hitched to longtime boyfriend Ryan Debolt on July 4 of this year.
Ramirez, 36, who is naturally very private about her life, opened up to Latina magazine about her newfound newlywed glow. The actress told the magazine, “I have a very romantic outlook on life right now. I’m really happy and I’m focusing on the light and the love all around.”
Sara, who was proposed to while vacationing in Paris with Debolt, was photographed by an on-looker, was shocked by the proposal, but said yes. The two took the plunge a year later, and Sara couldn’t be happier.
Describing the ceremony, Ramirez said:
“We had a very intimate ceremony with friends and family and there was so much love in that space, I can’t even tell you. As I grew up, I started to believe that I would be one of those gals that never got married.”
However, Ryan Debolt reportedly swept the actress, who plays surgeon Dr. Callie Torres, off of her feet. “The connection was there very early on. Pretty much when I first met him we both knew something on some very kind of spiritual level.”
For those who thought Sara would keep mum on how it felt to become Mrs. Debolt, think again. Ramirez told Latina , “There’s nothing like the first kiss once you’ve been pronounced husband and wife,” she says. “It’s such a wonderful moment!”
On television, her openly gay character, Callie Torres celebrated a wedding of her own last year, so partner and fellow surgeon Arizona Robbins.
