Leonardo DiCaprio loves dating supermodels, and, apparently, he loves breaking up with them too. It’s being reported that DiCaprio and model Erin Heatherton have decided to call it quits, but sources say the split is amicable.
The 34-year-old Great Gatsby star and his 23-year-old American model girlfriend have reportedly broken up after ten months of dating, reports MSN . DiCaprio was first spotted with the Victoria’s Secret model in December of last year, just a few months after splitting up with Blake Lively.
“They split a few weeks ago,” a source told Us Weekly . “There’s no bad blood -– they still care about each other a lot.”
The reason for the split is equally mundane, with the source blaming it on the couple’s hectic careers. “They’re both just really busy, they had crazy schedules,” the source explains.
DiCaprio was a busy bee in 2012, shooting The Great Gatsby in Australia and then Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming Django Unchained in New Orleans before finally wrapping up a busy year with The Wolf of Wall Street in New York.
“They still love and respect each other very much,” the source says. “It was just time to move on.”
Leonardo DiCaprio has dated a number of high-profile models and celebrities. Before Heatherton, he shared something of a summer fling with actress Blake Lively last year before the latter coupled with — and ultimately married — actor Ryan Reynolds. Before Lively, DiCaprio dated model Bar Refaeli from 2006 to early 2011 and, before that, shared a relationship with Victoria’s Secret model Gisele Bundchen between 2001 and 2005.
