Actress Scarlett Johansson has reportedly struck up a romantic relationship with Domingo Zapata, according to Perez Hilton .
Although Zapata’s name may sound vaguely familiar to those who follow the trials and tribulations of former child actress Lindsay Lohan, he’s not someone who grabs headlines on a regular basis. In fact, Domingo’s probably best known for owning the car driven by Lohan when she allegedly hit a pedestrian outside of a New York City club.
“Domingo has been telling all his friends about Scarlett — he’s crazy about her,” a source recently told Star Magazine . Since the Avengers co-star is rumored to be spending a lot of time at Domingo’s Bowery Hotel penthouse, many believe a romantic relationship is in the cards.
Of course, Johansson’s people have been quick to squash such rumors. According to the folks at Opposing Views , there’s nothing saucy going on between the actress and Zapata.
“They’re friends and not seeing each other,” was her representative’s response to the rumors.
Towards the middle of October, Scarlett Johansson split with her boyfriend Nate Naylor, whom she had been dating for roughly ten months. Various reports suggested that the pair’s relationship didn’t end sweetly.
“They never officially lived together, but Nate has moved all of his stuff out and back into his apartment. The relationship is over. It has not been amicable,” one source explained.
As if the break-up wasn’t bad enough, Johansson is reportedly bitter over her failed relationship with actor Ryan Reynolds. The fact that the Green Lantern star’s wedding to Gossip Girl actress Blake Lively took place around the time Scarlett split with Naylor was probably salt in the wound.
For the time being, at least Scarlett Johansson has a number of projects to keep her busy. In addition to starring as Janet Leigh in director Sacha Gervasi’s Hitchcock , the actress will tackle the role of an evil extraterrestrial in Jonathan Glazer’s Under the Skin .
