‘Game Of Thrones’ Star Alfie Allen Promises ‘More Dragons’ And ‘More Torture’ In Season 7

Game of Thrones will enter more unchartered territory when it returns to HBO next year. Last season went beyond George R.R. Martin’s novels in what proved to be one of the bloodiest seasons to date. While the Season 7 premiere is still a few months off, Alfie Allen recently teased about what’s to come for some of the characters in Westeros.

What did Allen spoil about the new season?

According to Express, Allen revealed that the new season of Game of Thrones would be similar to Season 6, only with more dragons and torture. Allen plays Theon Greyjoy, who was last seen sailing with Daenerys Targaryen to Westeros with his sister Yara.

In speaking to fans at a convention in Malta, Allen promised that Season 7 would be “more of the same but better,” adding that fans can expect “more dragons… lots more torture!”

Theon and Yara pledged their support to Daenerys in her effort to take control of the Iron Throne. They will likely come face to face with their uncle, Euron, on their way across the sea. Early spoilers indicate that the ensuing fight might split up Theon and Yara.

When talking about Theon, Allen admitted that his character is still “skittish and full of fear” after suffering at the hands of the demented Ramsay Bolton. Despite his struggles, Allen revealed that Theon will turn his fear into violence next season.

“That can kind of, I guess evolved into rage, which you might see… who knows?” he explained.

Theon has experienced an incredibly tragic storyline throughout the show’s first six seasons. According to Daily Mail, Theon started as an adopted child of the Starks who became Rob Stark’s trusted friend. He then turned on the Starks and sacked Winterfell, only to get captured by Ramsay and tortured.

Theon got a glimpse of redemption when he helped Sansa escape Ramsay’s clutches. He then joined his sister and helped hatch the plan to assist Daenerys in making the journey to Westeros.

When asked if Theon will meet up with Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) and the rest of the Stark children during Season 7 of Game of Thrones, The Sun reports that the actor refused to reveal any spoilers.

“You mean IF that happens. You gotta stop looking at the internet, guys!” he told fans, and later admitted that a reunion wouldn’t be good for Theon. “Theon would feel horrible. He’d feel awful. And he’d see it as a chance to redeem himself.”

Allen’s revelations come after Sophie Turner opened up about Sansa’s struggles next season. Sansa is quickly becoming the most powerful woman in the north, but it sounds like her rise to power will create some tensions between her and Jon.

“She’s seemingly in control for the first time – and it really suits her,” Turner revealed. “She’s kind of having a bit of a power trip. But she’s also becoming more insecure because there are threats to the power that she holds.”

Meanwhile, Mashable is reporting that HBO has released the first official images from the coming season. The photos include shots of Arya riding a horse, Sansa in winter attire, and Jon talking with someone. There’s no telling what producers have in store, but the photos hint that the Starks are set for an epic reunion.

Producers have not announced an official premiere date for the new season, though fans can expect a much later release date than previous years. This is because producers needed to film more scenes with wintry backdrops to give the seasons a more authentic feel.

Game of Thrones is expected to return to HBO in the spring or summer of 2017.
