Michael Flynn’s Son Fired From Trump Transition Team After He’s Linked To #Pizzagate

One of President-elect Donald Trump’s transition team members has been fired, before he really got started, for his involvement in #Pizzagate, a fake news story which caused a man to enter a pizza shop armed, in search of child slaves reportedly being kept in the basement. Michael G. Flynn, son of Lt. General Michael T. Flynn, Trump’s new national security advisor, was dismissed from his transition team position for spreading rumors he knew were false on social media.

Hiring Michael G. Flynn to be part of his transition team isn’t the first hiring that has raised eyebrows, as Stephen Bannon’s inclusion in the Trump cabinet has many people asking questions about past behavior involving antisemitism and misogyny in his former position with Breitbart News, says the Inquisitr. Bannon’s former wife, who accused him of domestic violence, said under oath that Bannon complained that he didn’t like how many Jews went to school with his daughters.

The New York Times said that President-elect Donald Trump fired transition team member Michael G. Flynn on Tuesday after his Twitter account was linked to the #Pizzagate scandal, which included Flynn knowingly spreading false stories about Hillary Clinton that led to an armed confrontation at a pizza restaurant called Comet Ping Pong on Connecticut Avenue in Washington, D.C.

This current crisis is putting a spotlight on views shared by Michael Flynn and his father, Lt. Gen. Michael T. Flynn, on social media throughout the campaign, including various fake news stories that Hillary Clinton committed felonies, and they had also posted messages that crossed into Islamophobia.

But what seemed initially to be tasteless gossip and rumors got serious when a North Carolina man, who read messages about a purported link between the Clinton campaign and an alleged child sex ring in the basement of Comet Ping Pong, gathered his firearms and headed to Washington, D.C., to see for himself. The man entered the pizza place with his guns drawn and fired into the restaurant.

Hours after the man was arrested, the younger Michael Flynn posted on Twitter that until #Pizzagate was proven to be false, it was still a valid story. Michael Flynn was found to have a transition team email address. The next morning, when Mike Pence went on Morning Joe, he denied that Michael Flynn was ever part of the Trump transition team. Later on, a representative for the transition team said that Flynn had been part of the transition team, but that he had since been relieved of his duties.

Though Michael G. Flynn is saying that he resigned from his position on the Trump transition team, representatives for Trump are saying that he was fired, says ABC News. Jason Miller, who at this time is speaking on behalf of the Trump transition team, says that the younger Flynn was helping his father, retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, with some clerical work, but that he is no longer working in that capacity.

“The younger Michael Flynn was helping his father with some administration and scheduling duties early on in the transition process. [He is] no longer involved with the transition efforts.”

The shooter, Edgar Welch, 28, fired an assault rifle into the Connecticut Avenue restaurant, as employees helped patrons run for cover. It is unclear if Welch has entered a plea. At this time, neither Flynn has commented on any of the fake news stories involving Hillary Clinton and Clinton employee John Podesta.

Do you think Michael Flynn, Jr. should face a police investigation? Do you believe that his father should be replaced as a member of the Trump cabinet for his role in passing on fake news stories?
