Selena Gomez is continuing her triumphant comeback by ending her Instagram silence with an emotional message. The queen of Instagram shared her post in the wake of her social media feud with on-again, off-again boyfriend Justin Bieber, which was followed by her career hiatus. The feud with Bieber occurred in August, and at the time Justin was dating Sofia Richie and getting bombarded with snarky comments from some of his fans.
Bieber had threatened to make his Instagram account private initially, noted Elite Daily.
“I’m gonna make my Instagram private if you guys don’t stop the hate…if you guys are really fans you wouldn’t be so mean to people that I like,” wrote Justin, referring to Sofia.
Some of Bieber’s fans rebelled, resulting in the hashtag #RIPBeliebers, while Selena hopped into the battle between Justin and his Beliebers by responding to his warning on Instagram.
“If you can’t handle the hate then stop posting pictures of your girlfriend lol — it should be special between you two only.”
Bieber then reacted to that feedback from his ex-girlfriend.
“It’s funny to see people that used me for attention…still try to point the finger,” wrote Justin.
Bieber subsequently deleted his account, while Gomez sought to apologize on social media. Her fans rushed to defend her, however.

That feud, however, led to Selena cutting off contact with Justin, according to Us Weekly.
The 24-year-old “Same Old Love” singer “changed her phone number,” an insider told Us, also revealing just how much of an impact the battle with Bieber had on her.
“Selena lost it. She can be fragile emotionally and Justin is a major factor.”
Months later, following some time off to focus on her lupus and its side effects such as depression and anxiety, Gomez is back to social media with an emotional message.
Teen Vogue pointed out that Selena’s first post in more than three months shares her journey.
“My year has been the hardest yet most rewarding.”
In addition to delight from fans at her return, celebrities, including Bella Hadid, Lily Aldridge, and even her rumored ex-boyfriend Zedd, either “liked” or commented on her photo.
I have a lot to be thankful for this year.. My year has been the hardest yet most rewarding one yet. I've finally fought the fight of not 'being enough'. I have only wanted to reflect the love you guys have given me for years and show how important it is to take care of YOU. By grace through faith. Kindness always wins. I love you guys. God bless
“I see you[r] light, I see your pure heart. I will always send positive energy. You deserve the best. You got my support,” wrote Adriana Lima.
Gomez earned attention previously for becoming the first person to reach 100 million followers, with the hashtag #SelenaBreakTheInternet trending.

Time pointed out that the “Kill ‘Em with Kindness” songstress was the first celebrity to achieve 100 million followers during a period when she had not been posting on her account.
The achievement occurred during her break from the spotlight, including social media, due to side effects from lupus, “which include anxiety and depression,” according to the media outlet.
While her post on Instagram has been celebrated by fans and celebrities alike, Selena’s recent speech at the American Music Awards also earned praise. It marked “her first public appearance in two and a half months,” noted E! News.
“What she said on stage indicated that no longer will she be content to be your average pop princess.”
Bieber performed remotely from Italy, so he was not sitting there to listen as his on-again, off-again girlfriend won the Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist award. However, she did refer to her previous performance of her song about her relationship with Justin.
“In 2014, this stage was actually the first time that I was authentically 100 percent honest with all of you,” stated Gomez.
That comment referred to “her gut-punch of a performance of ‘The Heart Wants What It Wants,’ a thinly veiled ode to her seemingly never-ending breakup with Justin Bieber,” according to E! News.
Do they still have feelings for each other, or has that feud ended their off-and-on romance permanently?
In Touch Weekly told readers that it is “back on for Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber’s rollercoaster relationship — and this time, it’s serious.”
Bieber allegedly “reconnected over the phone while Sel was in rehab,” according to the media outlet, which also reported that she “was very open to bringing [Justin] back into her life.”
Even after that feud, sources told Page Six that both have feelings for each other.
“[Bieber] was her first love, and he still has a major hold on her. If he texts her, her world stops.”
As for Justin, one of the insiders revealed he is “not over Gomez, either,” despite that Instagram war.
“They came up in this business together as sweethearts — those feelings will never go away,” added one of the sources.
