Will The ‘Pokemon Go’ Update In December Include Trading And PVP Battles? Data Miners Leak Fuel Rumors

The Pokemon GO update in December will include the highly anticipated trading and player-versus-player battling system in aside from the previously announced addition of 100 pocket monsters to the augmented reality mobile game from Niantic.

Rumors suggest that the Pokemon GO update next month is set to be the biggest in the entire year because it will introduce a card trading system, per a report from Phone Arena.

According to the outlet’s analysis, Niantic CEO John Hanke has already confirmed plans to roll out an update for the mobile game that would incorporate trading of Pokemon between players via an interview with Venture Beat.

“It would be fun. I have a 10-year-old son. He’s my Pokémon expert, and he wants to battle his friends in Pokemon GO, I can tell you that. We talked about trading.”

At the time, Hanke confirmed a lot of things, including the previously launched Pokemon GO Buddy System which allows players to select a certain Pokemon that would accompany them during their walks to earn Candies that are necessary for powering up and evolving that particular type of pocket monster.

He also mentioned Ditto during the September 2016 interview in a sort of teasing manner when he was asked how the slippery Pokemon can be caught.

“I can’t tell you how to find Ditto, because then it wouldn’t be any fun when you found him. But it’ll happen. I promise.”

Lo and behold! Ditto was indeed spotted in several areas in November, two months following his interview.

What remains to be unknown is the exact date as to when the Pokemon GO update that includes trading would be launched. Of course, Hanke did not fail to give a little bit of clue as to how people can learn about Pokemon GO“secrets” the game developers have incorporated in the update patches over time.

“If you want to predict the future, look at the past.”

In fact, a number of players and tech experts called “data miners” used this concept to locate evidence that developers are preparing for an update that would introduce interaction between players through battles and trading.

According Pokemon web scanner PokeVS, the Pokemon GO update 0.39.0 for Android and 1.9.0 for iOS scheduled for December would be the big surprise for players who are repeatedly asking for a trading and PVP battling system.

Apparently, the analysis from the web scanner unveiled codes that would point towards the connection of the upcoming Christmas update and the PVP features in Pokemon GO. Through altering a couple of the game’s code, PokeVS was able to underscore the proof that supports this rumor.

Of course, there will always be the possibility that Niantic would rewrite the codes and push the roll out of the much-awaited feature but the probability of it getting introduced in December is very high. After all, what better way to celebrate Christmas than to Pokemon PVP and trading as a present to Pokemon GO players.

In other news, Niantic is also set to launch a Pokemon GO update that introduces 100 more characters to the game starting off with Ditto.

Phone Arena explained that it is highly likely that Niantic will include Legendary Pokemon such as Mew and Mewtwo, though the outlet also suggests that other second generation Pokemon will be showcased including Celebi, Donphan, Pupitar, Entei, Lugia, Raikou, Miltank, Blissey, Smoochum, Smeargle, Stantler, Suicune, and many others.

So far, Niantic has not made any announcements or comments on these rumors yet, but it won’t hurt to give in to wishful thinking every once in a while. However, all information on the Pokemon GO update indicated in this article should still be taken with a grain of salt.
