Jesy Nelson Split: Little Mix Singer Ended Relationship ‘Weeks Ago’
Another Little Mix singer is officially single. Jesy Nelson has since split from her boyfriend, Jake Roche. The “Shout Out to My Ex” singer was all smiles when she made her first public appearance since reports surfaced that her relationship with the musician was long over.
The 25-year-old singer was joined by her Little Mix bandmates in Paris as they promoted their latest album, Glory Days, which dropped last week. Jesy Nelson smiled wide for the cameras and rocked a sexy ensemble during her appearance. Nelson was spotted wearing a green bomber jacket over a racy black velvet and lace romper paired with velvet thigh-high boots. Nelson “glowed,” according to the Sun, as she topped off her look with a velvet choker and pin-straight hair.
She was seen smiling and waving to fans as her and her girl group entered a radio station. On Monday, November 21, it was confirmed that Jesy and Rixton frontman Jake had actually split weeks ago following a series of arguments about their future together. The couple have reportedly called off their wedding and are now focusing on their work. Jesy will prepare to jet to Europe with Little Mix while Jake and Rixton will make more music for their next album.
“Their relationship became strained and they grew apart,” an insider told the Sun. “They started rowing and it became too much.”
“It’s over as far as Jesy’s concerned and there’s no going back,” another source told the British newspaper. “The wedding is off and her engagement ring won’t be going back on. Jesy’s so busy with her career and she’s throwing herself into her work.”
“Both Jake and Jesy’s families have been left reeling from the split and everyone is terribly upset by it. At the end of the day, they just want them to both be happy and if that means they’re apart then so be it,” yet another source confirmed, according to Capital FM.
Nelson previously broke her silence on their relationship in an interview about her band’s new album. She also confirmed that they are in no rush to get married. She said that she and Roche are “still very much in love” despite what the reports claim. Nelson was recently spotted without her engagement, fueling speculation that the pair has called it quits.

“When my fiancé proposed to me, he’d never done it like, ‘We’re getting married tomorrow.’ He felt like when he called me his girlfriend, it wasn’t enough,” she said in an interview with Idolator. “I think when we know, we’ll know, and we’ll do it, and [it will] probably be really intimate, hardly any people there. We’re very much in love, and we’ll do it when we feel the time is right.”
Jake popped the question back in July of 2015 in the middle of a Little Mix soundcheck inside the Manchester Arena. His friend, musician Ed Sheeran, helped out with the proposal, playing the couple’s favorite song “Tenerife Sea.”
It has been rumored that the two may have split after Nelson unfollowed Roche on Instagram, and he later shared photos of black clouds on his Instagram page. To add fuel to the fire, he has since deleted his tweets – apart from two that spell out the word “Arseh**e,” according to the Irish Mirror.
Little Mix recently took a trip to Australia to promote their new album. An interviewer then asked Perrie Edwards and Jade Thirwall about their bandmate’s relationship. Jade grabbed the journalist’s list of questions and threw them away after she said that asking the personal questions were “a bit rude.”
“That’s rude that!” she said before she threw away the questions.
“That is brutal!” Perrie said. “Just coming out with that. Next question sir. What are you going to do without your paper now, smart a**!”
