Sherri Papini Update: Deadline Passes For Missing California Mom’s Ransom, Cameron Gamble Serves As Negotiator For New Reward

The deadline has passed for a $50,000 ransom to be paid in the case of missing California mom Sherri Papini. Cameron Gamble had been negotiating the reward on behalf of an unknown donor, according to the Record Searchlight. Gamble continues to work with the donor as a negotiator for the new offer now on the table.

The anonymous donor created the website SherriPapini.com, on which a $50,000 reward was being offered for the individual who has the missing jogger, KRCR TV reports.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, initially, a letter from the mystery donor to the presumed abductor was posted on the website and said in part, “I am willing to pay you in whatever way you can creatively think about where you feel safe and where nothing can be tracked to you.”

The unknown donor also assured the person who may have Sherri that no communication with law enforcement would be undertaken.

A deadline of Wednesday, November 23 at 5 a.m. was also placed on the ransom, and that time has now passed. SherriPapini.com now indicates a $100,000 reward is being offered for anyone who can provide leads to Sherri. It states the anonymous donor is “willing to confidentially pay… $50,000 CASH immediately” if a lead to Sherri is provided. In addition, there is a cash offer of “$50,000 currently available.”

Presumably, the letter is referring to the $50,000 reward the Papini family is offering for tips that lead to finding Sherri.

Gamble, along with the Papini family’s private investigator, “will work with you to figure out the best way to help us both achieve our goals,” the letter notes. “You get the money and we get Sherri.”

Gamble spoke with the Record Searchlight on Tuesday afternoon prior to the expiration of the initial ransom offer. He opined Sherri’s presumed kidnappers were still figuring out what to do. He also said that both he and the anonymous donor would not get authorities involved in the matter.

According to the Record Searchlight, Gamble stated, “We have no desire to set up an individual to get caught… I’m a local guy. The last thing I want to do is trick somebody and then they’re going to come right after me. So I’m not going to do that.”

Gamble further said he respects the sheriff’s office, but his only goal is to make sure that “Sherri is brought back, and if that steps on some toes, so be it… We’re not doing anything illegal.”

According to the letter on SherriPapini.com, Gamble can be reached at 530-351-2748, or the donor can be contacted via email at BringSherriHome@gmail.com.

As of November 18, the sheriff’s office had not classified Sherri’s disappearance as an abduction, and Sheriff Tom Bosenko expressed concern with both the initial letter and the website, saying, that “if she [Sherri] was being held by someone, we think we or the family would have been contacted by the abductors by now if they wanted to hold her for ransom,” according to USA Today.

Sherri was reported missing on November 2 at around 6 p.m. after going for a jog earlier in the afternoon, as already reported by the Inquisitr. She was seen last jogging alone on Sunrise Drive in Redding, California, according to WKAL 1450.

Sherri was last seen wearing a pink and black jogging outfit and is described as being white with blond hair and blue eyes. She is five-foot-four and weighs approximately 100 pounds. KRCR TV reports that nothing has turned up although search teams have “combed the area all weekend.”

Anyone with information regarding Sherri Papini’s case is urged to call authorities at 530-245-6540 or the Major Crimes Unit at 530-245-6135. Tips can also be emailed to mcu@co.shasta.ca.us.
