Joy-Anna Duggar And Austin Forsyth: Are Joy-Anna’s Boyfriend And His Family Using Her?
Joy-Anna Duggar is only 19-years-old, but she and 22-year-old Austin Forsyth could be headed to the altar during Season 3 of Counting On. Unfortunately, there are some concerns that Joy-Anna’s new boyfriend and potential in-laws might be taking advantage of the teen for their own financial gain.
“Joy-Anna Duggar has entered a courtship with longtime friend Austin Forsyth, but could his family’s reality TV past expose an ulterior motive of dating the 19 Kids and Counting star?” Radar Online asks.
Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth have known each other for around 15 years, and they have similar religious upbringings. It’s certainly possible that they are head-over-heels in love with one another, but Radar points out that there are some warning signs that the Forsyth’s may be more interested in Joy-Anna’s TV fame than they are in her and Austin’s happiness.

For one thing, the Forsyth family has already engaged in a little fame-seeking behavior. In 2009, they agreed to appear on the CMT reality series World’s Strictest Parents. Austin Forsyth’s parents, Terry and Roxanne, proved just how strict they are by taking in two troubled teens and exposing them to some very Duggar-like teachings. The Forsyth kids revealed that they were both saving their first kisses for marriage, and the Forsyth parents shared their belief that women are supposed to serve as men’s “helpmeets.” As the International Business Times reports, the troubled teens staying with the Forsyth’s attended a Sunday school class where they were told that dating leads to divorce. This belief is likely one of the reasons the Forsyth’s encourage their kids to enter into closely-monitored courtships instead.
The Forsyth’s and their two adult kids own and operate the Fort Rock Family Camp in Combs, Arkansas. The camp is a family-friendly vacation destination designed to look like an Old West town.
It didn’t take long for the Forsyth’s to use Austin and Joy-Anna’s courtship to promote their business. Austin can be seen wearing a Fort Rock Family Camp T-shirt in their courtship announcement video, and an image of Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth is splashed on the front page of the camp’s website. There, Joy-Anna is already listed as a member of the Forsyth family.
According to the Hollywood Gossip, the Forsyth’s began making major changes to their camp’s website sometime around August, likely in preparation for the influx of curious Duggar fans that would seek it out after seeing Austin’s Fort Rock T-shirt on Counting On. In September, Austin and a few of Joy-Anna’s brothers posed together for a photo that was shared on the Duggar family’s Twitter page.

Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth’s courtship is also mentioned on the Fort Rock Family Camp Facebook page.
“We are extremely happy to announce the courtship of our son, Austin,” Terry and Roxanne Forsyth wrote.
“He and Joy have honored the Lord and will be a great testimony for his goodness and provision for a spouse! Congratulations to Austin & Joy!”
The Forsyth’s seem fairly certain that Joy-Anna and Austin are going to be spouses soon, and the young couple’s decision to go public with their relationship is a sign that marriage is all but inevitable. As Us Weekly reports, Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo announced that they were engaged just one month after they went public with their courtship. If Joy-Anna and Austin follow their lead, their engagement announcement will come right in time for the third season of Counting On.

As the Inquisitr previously reported, the Forsyth’s hold marriage retreats at their camp, and Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar have attended a few of them. It’s possible that the Forsyth’s plans on Joy-Anna and Austin helping out with these retreats once they’ve been married for a while and have some advice to share with other couples.
