Kanye West Breakdown: Rapper Feels Like He’s ‘Under Spiritual Attack,’ Meltdown Fueled By Spiritual Crisis, Source Says

Kanye West is currently under observation at a Los Angeles hospital following an abrupt cancellation of his “Saint Pablo Tour” on Monday. The Life Of Pablo rapper is being treated for “exhaustion” at UCLA Medical Center, according to CNN. A source close to Kanye told People that he is dealing with underlying emotional issues. The source claims Kanye is “spiritually exhausted” and feels like he’s “under spiritual attack.”

The hospital visit comes hours after Kanye canceled the remaining 21 dates of his “Life Of Pablo Tour” and after two controversial political tirades. The source revealed to People that Kanye went to the hospital under the advice of his physician.

Kanye was allegedly being checked for ‘severe sleep deprivation’ when it was ultimately decided that he needed to be admitted. It was confirmed by law enforcement sources that Kanye was hospitalized for his own safety, according to the Daily Mail. It was reported that West tried to resist being transported to the L.A. hospital and had to be handcuffed.

“He is exhausted and currently dealing with sleep deprivation. He went to the hospital at will under the advice of his physician. He’s fine.”

The source told People that Kanye is “in a very reflective place right now.” West’s mother, Donda, died in November of 2007 at the age of 58.

“He feels like he’s under spiritual attack, and has been for awhile. It’s not just the big things; it’s smaller, quieter things, internal things. You might think that it’s about Kim’s robbery, and while that didn’t help, that’s not what’s going on here. He’s dealing with a lot more subtle issues.”

“His mother died in November, so this time of year always brings him a lot of pain. He keeps that pain internalized but sometimes will talk about how hard this time of year is for him. He works through the pain every November.”

Kanye is still reeling from Kim Kardashian being held at gunpoint in Paris. His television mogul wife jetted to Paris for a week of runway shows and to pay homage to all things couture in honor of the annual Paris Fashion Week.

Later that evening, Kim was robbed of $10 million dollars worth of jewelry at Hôtel de Pourtalès in Paris, according to People. A list of expensive items that were stolen from the Selfie author included her upgraded, 20-carat diamond ring.

The father-of-two is reported to be physically exhausted from lack of sleep. The source told People that the rapper has “very low energy” and that his spirit is “grieving.”

“He feels like it’s a trying time for his spirit, but that can be a good thing. He isn’t one to run away from these things. He leans in and listens, and comes away a stronger, better man. But it hurts him; his spirit is vexed. But that’s where growth comes from.”

“Sometimes, darkness creeps in, and Kanye wrestles against it. He talks about that a lot. It’s exhausting, and it takes everything he’s got. He’s just so tired now; he’s very low energy and feels like there’s a grieving in his spirit. It’s very hard to explain, but something has happened recently, where he’s not the ‘Ye that everyone knows.”

Kim Kardashian, 36, was expected to make her first public appearance since the life-threatening Paris robbery last month. On Monday evening, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star made a last-minute decision to skip the Angel Ball at the Cipriani Wall Street in New York, according to TMZ. The ball was in honor of her late father, Robert Kardashian.

Kanye’s hospitalization comes from a string of relatively bizarre behaviors. More recently, West famously declared his intention to run for President of the United States in 2020.

Kanye stunned his California audience on Thursday night in between songs at the SAP Center to show his support for President-elect Donald Trump. However, he was booed by a large section of the crowd. Kanye announced that he did not vote, but if he did, he “would have voted for Trump,” according to CNN.

“I told you I didn’t vote… But, if I voted, I would have voted for Trump.”

West halted his concert to go on a 30-minute political rant.

“This is my platform and I’m going to talk about the paradigm shift that’s happening right now.”

“There’s nonpolitical methods to speaking that I like, that I feel were very futuristic. And that style and that method of communication has proven that it can beat a politically correct way of communication. And I f***with that.”

Kris Jenner told Extra on Monday night that Kanye needed a break from the grueling tour.

“He’s exhausted, he’s just really tired. He’s had a grueling tour and it’s been a grind, so he just needs some rest.”
