‘Vanderpump Rules’ Couple Scheana Marie And Mike Shay Are Headed For Divorce After Two Years Of Marriage

Scheana Marie and Mike Shay are reportedly headed for a split after just over two years of marriage.

According to a new report, the Vanderpump Rules couple is living separately and planning to end their marriage as the fifth season of their reality series plays out on Bravo.

“[Scheana Marie] and Mike are living separately at the moment. He’s been staying with his family. They are headed for a divorce,” a source told In Touch Weekly on November 16, claiming that Mike’s addiction issues are to blame.

Scheana Marie and Mike Shay have been together since fans first met them on Vanderpump Rules in 2013, and during Season 2, fans watched as they became engaged at the home of their boss and co-star, Lisa Vanderpump. One season later, Scheana Marie and Mike Shay’s wedding was one of the major storylines of the show. During its Valentine’s Day episode of that year, they officially became husband and wife.

While Scheana Marie and her husband enjoyed married life for a while, they were ultimately seen at odds during Season 4 due to Shay’s alleged addiction to prescription pills. During the season, Scheana Marie was seen speaking to Vanderpump about her husband’s drinking habits and admitted that he often mixes alcohol with pills.

By the end of the season, Scheana Marie and Mike Shay’s marital troubles had been addressed, and they appeared to be in a great place in their marriage. They even returned to the spot of their honeymoon over the summer where they celebrated their two-year wedding anniversary. Now, however, their marriage is on the rocks yet again, and this time around, their relationship may be unsalvageable.

According to the In Touch Weekly magazine report, Scheana Marie first began to suspect something wasn’t right with her husband when “a lot of money began disappearing from their joint bank account.”

Although Shay has since denied that he is off the wagon, the source claimed he was believed to have returned to alcohol and drugs.

“Mike needs help. [Scheana Marie] believes that he’s drinking and smoking pot again,” the source explained. “He insisted he’s sober and wants people to believe he’s innocent of everything. As much as Scheana loves him, she just can’t be with someone like that.”

News of Scheana Marie’s marriage problems first hit the web earlier this month. At the time, a TMZ report claimed Shay had disappeared and cleared out their joint checking account.

“Scheana Marie and Michael Shay could be on the express train to spiltsville, now that she’s telling friends he disappeared with their money,” the outlet noted at the time.

According to sources close to Scheana Marie, the reality star got spooked after her husband didn’t return home days prior, especially considering a close friend of hers had recently passed and she was quite upset. Then, after being unable to reach him, she cut off his credit cards, and he allegedly continued to be missing in action for two days.

Following the report, Scheana Marie’s husband took to his Instagram page, where he denied that he was missing and insisted he was clean and sober.

“I am not missing. I am sober. I am Happy!!! Don’t believe everything you read,” he wrote. “I love my wife and will always love my wife. Whatever is going on between us will stay between us! I love my family and my family loves me and a lot of things have been said out is protection and anger by many people. I just ready for the next chapter in my life!”
