Black Friday 2016 Deals: Walmart Vs. Target Best Sales For HDTVs, PS4, And Xbox One Bundles

With new Black Friday 2016 ads being released by the day, there’s still no question that the Walmart and Target sales deals are the most scrutinized. These two stores will see hundreds of thousands of shoppers come through the doors for the Black Friday shopping extravaganza, while many millions more will be shopping the deals online. Knowing that, it seems best to take a look at the two retailers to see the “best of the best” when it comes to their deals in 2016.

Both Walmart and Target tend to go for the “wow factor” in terms of their front page sales deals on their advertisements and this Black Friday season is no different. Large hi-definition televisions, video game systems, and other electronics are normally featured as special “doorbuster” deals that customers can only snatch up if they are lucky. It usually means getting into the store super early, or being able to be online when the particular items are still in stock and available for order at the reduced prices.

For this year’s sales, both stores are offering a great deal on a large HDTV. However, it really will depend on a customer’s preference. As Brad’s Deals notes, one of Target’s top deals is the Hisense 50-inch Smart 4K UHDTV for just $249.99. It’s considered one of the lowest prices seen on a television of this type and size. However, keep in mind that there are other details to consider once the item box is seen. These include looking at how many HDMI ports the TV has, as well as the lack of other key features that some discerning customers may want to skip.

Walmart is right there with Target and attempting to do them one better. Among Walmart’s top 10 deals is a Phillips 55-inch 4K UHD Smart TV at a price of $298.00. That’s five inches larger and about $50 more than Target’s deal, and it’s considered a more known household brand. It also indicates it has 3 HDMI ports, which is something that the Target deal specifics lack right now. Remember, getting to the store early for the doorbuster is the best way to snag this deal.

There are a handful of other television deals from both Walmart and Target’s Black Friday deals this year. There’s a Vizio 60-inch 1080p HDTV for $398 at Walmart. For a smaller screen, Target has an Element 43-inch 4K UHDTV for $199.99, while Walmart has a 40-inch Element or Hisense 1080p HDTV for just $125. There’s also a 32-inch Polaroid LED HDTV for a low $85 at Target, making for a great small TV gift for a college student.

Right up there with HDTV sales, each Black Friday shopping season are also Black Friday video game system deals. The Microsoft Xbox One and Sony PlayStation 4 continue to be highly sought after by gamers who have yet to acquire these top-of-the-line systems. Target will offer a $249.99 Xbox One S bundle deal which includes the 500-gigabyte system along with Battlefield 1 or Minecraft and a $40 store gift card.

Walmart will offer the same price on a PlayStation 4 Uncharted bundle which will include a $30 store gift card. With these deals, it will come down to which gaming system the gift recipient really wants, as there are fanboys out there for Microsoft and Sony’s products. Some gaming enthusiasts tend to love the look of graphics or the available titles on one system over the other.

When it comes down to it, both stores have some amazing prices featured in their Black Friday 2016 deals. However, it’s important to do early research into the items that are being offered. If at all possible, try to get the exact model and SKU numbers for the items being advertised and look deeper into the features that these items include. In addition to that, make sure to plan out the best way to get to the store early, even if it means camping out in line. Otherwise, the best way to go may be to take a chance online that the item will be available for order.

Holiday shoppers, which Black Friday 2016 deals are you most interested in? Do you feel Walmart and Target have any deals that are “must haves” or is it better to wait for Cyber Monday sales?
