David Blaine: Is ‘Beyond Magic’ Dark Magic? Watch Blaine Throw Up And Swallow A Live Frog [Video]

The below video is currently No. 7 on YouTube’s trending list of popular videos, titled “David Blaine Shocks Jimmy and The Roots with Magic Tricks.” The segment from The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon was uploaded to YouTube on November 11. In that time, it has gained more than 4 million views. Just as the title describes, the video indeed shocked Fallon and the house band, The Roots, with the magic that Blaine displayed in the video.

The reason the video from The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon has gained so many views within a short manner of time is no doubt in large part to the magic trick that Blaine displayed at the end of the video, which the YouTube description explains that no one expected.

“David Blaine performs several simple card tricks with Jimmy and members of The Roots before freaking everyone out with an illusion no one expects.”

Whereas Blaine’s magic tricks in the beginning of the segment still freaked out Fallon and caused him to go into a fit of giggles, it was the coup de grace at the end that sealed the deal. The start of the video showed a series of magic tricks that featured Blaine anticipating the face card value of the playing cards that David showed to Fallon and The Roots. At one point, Blaine seemed to flick a certain amount of cards into the inside pocket of one of The Roots, to the point where he felt the cards flicking quickly into his inner shirt pocket.

At a different juncture during the video, Blaine had Fallon simply think of a value of a card — and amazingly, David had that exact card (the 7 of hearts) show up as the second card in the deck. Fallon was sufficiently freaked out, but not as much as he would be, along with the audience and The Roots, when David began talking about living creatures and the like.

Ultimately, Blaine drank a glass of water, acted kind of weird, and expelled a live frog from his mouth — perhaps, seemingly, directly from David’s stomach. After that gross display of magic, Blaine seemingly swallowed the frog after expelling it into a glass. The frog appeared to be a living frog that had perhaps been swimming around in David’s stomach the whole time he performed his magic tricks on Fallon’s show.

Blaine proved himself to be an extraordinary magic man, as reported by Entertainment Weekly, when David performed the tricks on Fallon’s show on Friday. But the real question on the minds of many folks who’ve watched Blaine’s antics for years is usually: How does David perform such magic tricks?
