Mariah Carey’s Ex James Packer ‘Furious’ As She Moves On With Backup Dancer [Report]

Mariah Carey has allegedly left her former fiance, James Packer, “furious” amid reports she’s already moved on with her backing dancer Bryan Tanaka just days after they called off their engagement.

According to reports, while Mariah has not confirmed or denied that she’s dating Tanaka following her breakup with Packer last month, sources are claiming that the two are, in fact, dating, and their relationship has left James “furious.”

“James is not pleased about Mariah and Bryan,” a source told Hollywood Life of how Packer responded to Carey’s alleged relationship with Tanaka, who’s thought to have served as one of the “We Belong Together” singer’s backup dancers for a decade.

“He is furious and thinks Bryan is a joke,” continued the insider of Carey’s ex-fiance’s feelings about Mariah dating Bryan. “James can’t believe that after all he has done for Mariah that she would be messing around with a dancer.”

However, while sources are claiming that James has been left “furious” with Mariah’s behavior and quickness to start dating again in the wake of their breakup, the source confirmed that Packer isn’t about to start a feud with Carey or Tanaka.

“As powerful as James is and as much as he would like to make Bryan’s life difficult, James is going to take the high road and walk away like a gentleman,” confirmed Hollywood Life’s source of how Packer is handling Carey’s alleged new romance, despite Mariah and Packer only calling off their engagement in October.

“James has too much to lose to get in a public squabble with a young dancer like Bryan,” the source noted of Packer amid the dating rumors.

People confirmed on October 27 that Mariah Carey and James Packer had ended their relationship after becoming engaged back in January. An inside source alleged that Carey’s wild spending habits could have potentially have played a part in their breakup.

“Some of Mariah’s eccentric ways, especially her spending habits, caused drama,” People reported of Carey and Packer’s breakup after 11 months of being engaged, adding that James “definitely doesn’t agree with senseless spending” despite his billionaire status.

Neither Mariah nor James confirmed the reports, although sources in both camps appeared to hint that the twosome are not in a good place and could even be locked in a feud following their breakup, as sources on both sides slung mud via People.

“James has not been in a mentally healthy place,” a source close to Carey told the site of Mariah and James’s breakup. “His behavior was not a desirable situation for Mariah so she unfortunately had to leave him.”

A source close to James then went on to slam the accusations, suggesting that Mariah’s tale may not have been the truth about her and Packer’s recent split.

“[It’s] typical Mariah to just twist things that don’t sound good to her,” a Packer insider told the site. “They split because she has issues. James is definitely an oddball, but a brilliant great guy. To put her issues on James is ridiculous.”

Reports claiming that Mariah is now dating Bryan have not been confirmed by Mariah, James or Bryan, though Yahoo Celebrity claimed that Carey has been spotted out with Tanaka, who has reportedly danced for Carey for several years after first meeting the singer when he danced on Mariah’s 2006 “The Adventures of Mimi” tour, on several occasions since her breakup.

Yahoo! most recently revealed that the twosome went to dinner together with Carey’s daughter Monroe amid the dating rumors and “were seen laughing side-by-side” while Tanaka had “his arm gently placed behind the singer’s head.”

As the dating rumors continue to swirl, TMZ previously alleged that Tanaka caused tension within Mariah and Carey’s relationship and claimed that the twosome actually got into a verbal altercation back in June during one of Carey’s shows, though the report has not been confirmed.
