Missing 16-Year-Old Girl Mysteriously Found Dead Near Cemetery Where Friend Was Buried

A missing 16-year-old girl, Ciara Witt, of Bournemouth, Dorset, in England, was mysteriously found dead near the cemetery where her friend was buried just days earlier, according to the Mirror.

It was reported that Ciara went to visit her friend, Jack Gudge, who was also 16, on Friday at around 11 a.m. at the Kinson Cemetery not long after attending his funeral.

Gudge reportedly died after he was involved in a fight just outside Tesco Express shop in Wimborne Road, Winton, near Bournemouth. Three men and a teen boy were arrested in connection to his death, but they were all released “without charge.”

However, when Ciara failed to return to home, her parents immediately reported her missing.

Twenty-four hours after the teen’s disappearance, authorities say they found a body at an address near the cemetery where she was last seen, but police officials were withholding the person’s identity.

In a Facebook post that garnered over 600 shares, over 1,500 likes, and nearly 800 comments, Ciara’s mother – Mel Witt – announced to the public that the body found near the cemetery was tragically her missing daughter.

“I feel I have to let people know my daughter Ciara is sadly now with her grandad and her cheeky chav. She’s not coming home, you don’t need to look or search anymore. Thanks for all your help.”

Friends and family were devastated after learning that the missing teen was found dead just 24 hours after she disappeared, including strangers, who wrote in a Facebook post that although they didn’t know Mel, they have shared the poignant announcement of her daughter’s death.

“Not the outcome we would have hoped and prayed for,” said Lisa Letch on Facebook. “Hope you can take some comfort in the fact that you, your family, and friends are in our thoughts at this time.”

“I have children and a daughter of the same age as Ciara and as a mother, I can only imagine how hard it is to lose someone so precious. My thoughts are with you all,” Another social media user, Angela Coombes wrote.

“The police need to do something about this,” said Aaron Pithia in a Facebook post. Ciara and Jack have lost their lives because of the same c****, and the police are turning a blind eye. Soon people are going to start taking matters into their own hands. Jack and Ciara will always be remembered and missed.”

After the missing teen was found dead, a local priest, Reverend Barry Harding-Rathbone, released a comment.

“I am asking everybody to please send loving healing energy to Mel Witt & her entire family after the body of her little girl Ciara was found earlier today – in a house just round the corner from us in Rochester Rd.

“She went missing Friday night, clearly devastated after Jack’s funeral but I don’t know how she has died, other than its nothing suspicious, which is one tiny relief after such a tragedy has happened.”

“We pray that her mom Mel, her family and all affected as a result of her sad death, will find some peace at this time, so the healing of loss can begin,” the priest added.

A Just Giving page was created for Ciara and her friend to build a memorial bench to keep their memories alive and any remaining money will go to the family. According to the site, it is “such a shame to see two young, aspirational people with massive futures ahead come to an end without warning. One tragic event followed by another. Ciara and Jack were loved by many and played a large role in all of our lives and deserve to be remembered forever.”

“Our thoughts are with them and their families as we remember these two amazing members of society.”

Circumstances leading up the missing teen’s death have not been determined, but an investigation is underway.
