‘ARK: Survival Evolved’ Xbox One Fear Evolved 2 Event Arrives With PrimitivePlus Fixes

Xbox One owners finally received the update that brings the Fear Evolved 2 event to ARK: Survival Evolved on Wednesday. The Halloween event is a couple of days late but also comes with a load of new fixes for PrimitivePlus plus a fix for Redwood Island on The Center map.

As previously covered, Xbox One owners almost did not receive the Fear Evolved 2 event. Some unexpected business for the Studio Co-Founders and Lead Developer to not be available. This resulted in the ability to turn into vampires and werewolves to be dropped plus the console release to be delayed.

It is here now with two separate downloads to reach patch 745.0. There is a 3.5 GB patch for those that own ARK: Survival Evolved as well as an additional 175 MB update for those who have purchased the Scorched Earth expansion. Community Manager Jat recommended on Twitter to restart your console to make sure both updates are picked.

The 745.0 update comes with a huge list of fixes for the PrimitivePlus official mod. Development of the mod on the console has been hampered by needing some console specific coding performed. However, it now is brought up to speed with the PC and has some Xbox One optimizations.

Patch notes for PrimitivePlus release 1.3 can be found on the game’s official forums. There is a lengthy list of changes including a taming balance pass for carnivores, another balance pass on melee weapons and custom arrows, plus several bugs fixes for building and placing structures and over 100 bug fixes in all, per Studio Wildcard.

Meanwhile, those that enjoy the Redwood Forest on The Center map should see a change in the animal spawns. This ARK: Survival Evolved update fixes spawn issues in the region.

The Fear Evolved 2 Halloween-themed event gives players the chance to collect new items and fight the ferocious DodoWyvern on Scorched Earth or the DodoRex on The Island. Those that play on The Center or in PrimitivePlus will not see any of the content from the event.

The new cosmetic items that can be obtained include Vampire Eyes, Werewolf Mask, and a Clown Mask. This is in addition to cosmetic items from last year’s event, such as Witch Hats. The Vampire Eyes and Werewolf Mask actually come from the featured pulled to transform into both monsters.

Players can also find Scarecrows, Skelesaur costumes for their tamed dinos, Candy Corn drops, and more. Wild Alpha dinosaurs will also appear with Skelesaur skins to provide even more fear than usual with their appearance.

The collectible items are indeed collectible with Fear Evolved 2. ARK: Survival Evolved does not feature any microtransactions to purchase skins or crates that contain skins. They can be picked up by players as loot drops from killing different creatures in the game, through supply drops, and chests.

Fear Evolved 2 will run for exactly one week and conclude on November 9. Studio Wildcard does have a Christmas holiday-themed event planned as well. The Winter Wonderland event hit PC at the end of 2016 and will return this year. It is planned to come to the Xbox One too.
