Kelly Dodd Not Fired From ‘RHOC’ — Newbie Housewife Sticking Around For Another Season

Kelly Dodd is the newbie in the OC. She joined The Real Housewives of Orange County for Season 11 because she knew Meghan King Edmonds. While the ladies were filming back in the spring, it was leaked that many of the cast members weren’t fond of Dodd. Heather Dubrow was thoroughly disgusted, and it appears she remains that way. In fact, there is a clear cast divide months after filming.

The reunion for The Real Housewives of Orange County is being filmed today, and it is expected to be explosive. Rumors have been surfacing that Kelly Dodd was fired and that this would be her final time filming for the show. According to All About the Tea, Kelly Dodd was not fired from the Real Housewives of Orange County. The ratings have been up during this season because of all of the drama. She was the perfect addition to stir the pot and take the majority of the focus off of Vicki Gunvalson and Brooks Ayers. Fresh faces also bring new stories, and some of them happened to tie in with the other cast members.

It has been quite some time since all of the ladies from the OC have been in the same room with one another. Kelly Dodd is still close with Vicki Gunvalson and reportedly also snagged some new friends in former housewives stars Gretchen Rossi and Lizzie Rovsek. In fact, there has been an ongoing Twitter battle about how Shannon Beador has been setting up Dodd. Both Rossi and Rovsek stepped in to defend their friend, calling Shannon out for what they believe she is really like. There were reports that Bravo had to tell the ladies to keep it off Twitter and save it for the reunion show.

News recently broke that Meghan King Edmonds would be ending her run on The Real Housewives of Orange County. Kelly Dodd made friends with Vicki Gunvalson early on, which drove a wedge between herself and Edmonds. They have been commenting on each other in the media, sneaking jabs in here and there. Dodd hasn’t said too much to Edmonds on camera, but their relationship hasn’t been the same since the accident with the dune buggy. While they remain friends, it isn’t what it used to be.

There have been a lot of questionable Kelly Dodd moments this season, especially after she has been drinking. She is insisting she was set up in Ireland by Shannon Beador and at the 70s party as well. Dodd has said some things that weren’t classy, but she isn’t making excuses for who she is and how she felt. This has been an intense season and more volatile than most. It makes for great ratings but it also compromises how people view the cast members.

Right now, Meghan King Edmonds is the only housewife who has announced she won’t be returning. Kelly Dodd will likely stick around by her own accord. Bravo has confirmed she wasn’t fired and being that she is the only friend Vicki Gunvalson has left on the show, there’s really no other choice. There are high expectations for Dodd’s behavior at the reunion. All of the ladies have been preparing for this, and it is going to be explosive. There are plenty of accusations to be addressed, and the topic of Shannon Beador’s secret will likely be discussed. Gunvalson told Dodd the secret, though Beador denies there is anything to tell. Andy Cohen is going to have a hard time moderating these ladies, especially if Dodd comes after she’s had a few drinks.

Now that it has been confirmed that Kelly Dodd was not fired from The Real Housewives of Orange County, fans can rest easy. She seems to have drawn quite a fan base from her first season on the show, even raking in some of the former stars as well. Kelly Dodd may not be everyone’s favorite housewife, but she is bringing in ratings gold for Bravo.
