Kerry Washington gave birth to her second child with husband Nnamdi Asomugha on October 5 amid well-guarded privacy so much so that the news remained hidden for days despite the Scandal star’s epic fame. The baby boy, named Caleb Kelechi Asomugha, joins 2-year-old sister Isabelle to give Washington a brand new gladiator!

Kerry Washington’s second pregnancy became publicly known in May while she was attending the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner in Washington, D.C. She is famously protective of her privacy and the birth of her second child proved it once again. E! News first broke the news about the birth of her son.

The Django Unchained star has chosen to keep the birth private and very few details about it have been forthcoming.

How Kerry Washington Manages To Keep It Private Every Time

Kerry Washington has been around in Hollywood for a really long time, but gained explosive success much later. It came when she had already reached her mid-30s and as such had gained a lot of maturity that younger stars fail to develop.

She has previously spoken on the issue in an interview with actress Lena Dunham on Marie Claire.

People close to the 39-year-old actress say that she was super excited about expanding her family. She is said to be absolutely thorough in her approach to staying healthy and keeping her baby well by eating right and practicing yoga.

There were rumors early on that the makers of Scandal would include the pregnancy in Season 6 but they turned out to be false when Kerry Washington herself dismissed the speculation.

“As far as I know, we’re going to be hiding things. But stay tuned!”

It was later reported that the Scandal crew was helping Washington in keeping her baby bump hidden from viewers by veiling it behind big coats and bags and also shielding it behind other actors.

The actress had also shared that she and hubby Asomugha has chosen to keep their second child’s sex suspense until it was actually born. She had declined to share the names they had picked out for their baby.
