‘Melrose Place’ Cast Reunites After 20 Years On Good Morning America

Some of the best well known characters of the 90s have been reuniting as part of Entertainment Weekly’s reunion issue. Now the magazine gathered the popular cast of one of the most popular shows of the 90s, Melrose Place.

During the show’s airing from 1992 to 1999, Melrose Place featured the stylish, luxurious lives of young and ambitious characters taking on careers in advertising, the medical field, and the entertainment field. The show, which featured the Melrose Place complex that housed its characters had rivals that made fans tune in week after week, fighting over hunks like Billy Campbell and biker Jake Hanson.

The EW photo shoot and subsequent interview brought together fan favorites Heather Locklear, Courtney Thorne-Smith, Grant Show, Daphne Zuniga, Josie Bisset, Doug Savant, Andrew Shue, and Laura Leighton for a reunion that’s been 13 years in the making. Locklear, who played Amanda said of the show’s placement in her life as, “definitely the highlight of my career.” She continued, “When I saw this show before I was on it … I said ‘Oh, my God, that group looks fun to be with. “I want to be on that show. It’s been a really special cast.”

Good Morning America partnered with Entertainment Weekly to cover the reunion, which GMA called the “Melrose Monday blowout.” It was particularly a special occasion as GMA anchor Amy Robach interviewed and met her husband Andrew Shue’s cast mates during the reunion special. Of what was special about Melrose Place, Shue, who played writer Billy Campbell said, “We weren’t catty. There were no divas. It really was a family.”

Since Melrose Place, the CW started a reboot of the series. Actor Doug Savant has gone on to star in Desperate Housewives, and Locklear has seen stardom from her stint on the show as well.
