Iowa Woman Throws Drug And Alcohol Parties For Teens, Assaults 14-Year-Old With Vibrator

An Iowa woman, Darcy Duncan, has been arrested and charged for throwing drug-and-alcohol infested parties for teenagers at her home as well as abusing a 14-year-old-girl with a sex toy, KCCI News is reporting.

The 48-year-old woman was taken into custody and charged with over 24 criminal counts, including distributing drugs to people not over to 18, giving alcohol to people not over to 18, neglect of a dependent person, and third-degree sexual abuse.

According to court reports, Duncan was known for holding notorious parties at her Ankeny house where teenage guests could buy alcohol and drugs without restraints. Duncan’s teenage daughter also admitted to possessing drugs and paraphernalia but denied offering them to young people.

The most severe charge against Duncan stems from a 14-year-old girl who allegedly said the 48-year-old ordered two teens to hold her on a bed and then used a vibrator to perform a sexual act over her body. The girl was able to escape and lock herself in another room in Duncan’s house.

One of the teenagers who frequented the parties said Duncan sold her marijuana from a glass bong for $11 and Bacardi rum and Coke for $15. Another 14-year-old told authorities that she smoked marijuana at one of the parties, but fell ill and after seeking medical treatment, tested positive for THC, a key component in marijuana.

The 48-year-old woman has been prevented from having any type of contact with anyone younger than 18 and is being held on a $1.4 million bail. Duncan has been in trouble with the law before and had been arrested on harassment and assault charges over a fracas in October 2015, where she threatened to break a kid’s jaw that was making fun of her weight.

More than 60 pages of court documents described in graphic details the parties Darcy Duncan held from July 1 to August 24 before they were eventually shut down by police. Authorities confirmed that the 48-year-old woman did drugs and drank alcohol with the minors she entertained.

A resident, Betsy Jury, said she was not surprised with the drug and alcohol-fueled parties in the area adding it came with the territory, but that Darcy Duncan had taken it to another level entirely.

“I’ve lived here my whole life and I’ve seen everything along those lines, but nothing that big. I’ve seen kids getting dropped off, picked up by other teenagers…but it’s never been adults.”

Resident Danae Gleason revealed that the shocking realization that the parties took place just a few doors from her house reduced her to tears.

“I don’t know her that well but it’s still heartbreaking…as a mother, I could never…I can’t…I don’t even know what she was thinking.”

Darcy Duncan is not the only one that has been arrested and charged for causing chaos in the Ankeny area of Iowa. Melinda Bales, a 39-year-old woman who ran an illegal day center from a trailer home has also been arrested. She was charged with three counts of child endangerment after a tip-off led the Iowa Department of Human Services to her mobile home. According to Iowa law, Bales was not meant to have more than five children under her care at any given time. A random drug test also showed she had methamphetamine in her system.

She was arrested but has since been released after meeting her bail conditions.

A police officer said the children under her day care were not harmed, but it was a worrying concern how many times Melinda Bales used drugs while watching little kids inside her trailer home. Ankeny Police Lt. confirmed that a suspicious resident in the area had tipped off police authorities.

“She was familiar with the day care provider and I think she saw some things or heard some things that made her believe the police should probably get involved.”
