Fall TV 2016 Schedule: When Will ‘The Flash’ Season 3 Premiere On The CW? [Spoilers]

The fall TV 2016 schedule has started and is almost in full swing. There are a few shows missing from the current line-up, and one of those is The Flash Season 3. Just when does The Flash return to the CW?

For those getting a little worried, there is some great news. The Flash was picked up for a third season, and the CW confirmed that it would return for the fall 2016 schedule. There was once a time that the WB and CW aired their TV shows in September like most other networks, but now the CW has pushed start dates back. The Flash Season 3 premiere won’t air until October.

There still isn’t too long to wait. The official date is October 4, which just so happens to be the date that The Flash Season 2 comes to Netflix, as the Inquisitr previously reported. So, you can catch up on some of Season 2 during Tuesday day time and then watch the Season 3 premiere. You’ll really want to watch the Season 2 finale, as there are some major changes coming to Season 3.

For those who haven’t watched the Season 2 finale yet, there are spoilers from here. You have been warned! Here’s the trailer for the Season 2 finale just to break up a few things in case you really don’t want to be spoiled before the speedster comes to Netflix.

The Flash Season 2 ended with Barry Allen going to the past. Rather than watch his mom die, he decided to stop it all from happening. What does that mean? Well, everything changes!

The new universe in the Flash Season 3 premiere is called “Flashpoint.” By the looks of the trailer for the premiere, there aren’t many people who know who Barry Allen is. They have no idea they have been working with him for the last two years to save Central City from everything that’s happened. Did the war with Earth-2 even happen in this timeline? It certainly doesn’t feel like it.

Barry will have to work out all the changes. Will he get all of them at once or do they come in flashes as he realizes that what he did was a bad thing. We all know that you don’t go and change the past! Just what danger as Barry caused to Central City? The trailer doesn’t look great for him as he forgets that he was the Flash!

Those who are looking forward to a certain character in the Flash Season 3 premiere will be disappointed. Tom Cavanaugh isn’t going to appear, according to the International Business Times. While he has played Reverse Flash before and there will be Reverse Flash in the premiere, the character isn’t played by Cavanaugh. This version is played by Matt Letscher. Does this mean something major has happened to Cavanaugh’s character that Barry will need to figure out?

Cavanaugh will come back, and he is still a series regular. Right now, it just isn’t clear what “Flashpoint” means for him.

The Flash is the first of the CW’s shows to return for the fall TV 2016 schedule. It is followed by new series No Tomorrow, and then Arrow Season 5 will premiere the next night. It wasn’t a surprise that the speedster was renewed for a third season or that he got to stick to his usual Tuesday night slot at 8 p.m.

From the following week, he will be joined by Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow on Monday and Thursday, respectively. The whole week is set up for a superhero spectacular.

Catch The Flash Season 3 premiere on Tuesday, October 4 at 8 p.m. on the CW. Get ready for “Flashpoint”!
